Isaiah 42

A Review of Isaiah 42
by Keith E Gardner
Always using the King James Bible

Isaiah 42:1

In this verse the LORD is introducing the world to His elect.  God views all the people of the world as either Jews who are the elect of God or Gentiles who are the lost: Galatians 2:11-16.  In Galatians 2:15 we see Paul speaking of the elect of God says We who are Jews by nature”.  We all know Paul was elect of God therefore to include himself amongst the group of “Jews by nature” is to say they were, as best he could tell, also elect of God.  Today every Jew is a Jew by nature as every true Jew is identified by God only.

Isaiah 42:2-4

In these verses we see our Lord GOD working through His elect, as verse 1 has established the LORD is speaking of His elect.  The LORD continues in verses 2 and 3 just as He told His apostles in Mark 6:7-11 we see His elect even now are to do the same.  If you will notice the closing clause in verse 3 states “he shall bring forth judgment unto truth”.  Comparing that statement to Mark 6:11 you can see it is the same idea simply expressed another way.  From verse 4 we learn that because we are elect of God we “shall not fail”.  We will bring the truth of judgment unto this world and all the world can only wait on the LORD.

Isaiah 42:5-8

In verse 5 our Lord GOD is telling all who He is.  He is making it known that He is the one true God.  He is the giver of life, health and strength to all whom He has blessed to possess it.

In verse 6 the LORD says “I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee”.  This is our Lord GOD speaking to His elect and we can know this because He has called them and He will hold their hand which is to be interpreted as He has called and chosen them.  The LORD continues “…and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles”.  God giving His elect for a covenant of the people and a light of the Gentiles is our Lord GOD saying His elect are examples of His word: Genesis 17:1-4.  Like Abraham was not perfect neither are any of God’s elect.  However because we are elect of God, just as Abraham was, our sins have been paid for making us righteous in the sight of God.  No man can be righteous of himself.  All of our thoughts, actions and our speech will dam us before our All Mighty God therefore it should be clear why only God saves: Psalm 3:7-8.  As in John 6:53-64 Jesus spoke the truth but no man understood Him neither can any man be save of himself and as those who followed Jesus said in John 6:60 “…This is an hard saying; who can hear it?” no man can comprehend the truth of the Bible without the blessing of God.

In verse 7 the LORD is speaking of many of His elect.  Although there have been, and may even be at the present time, some who have been born saved the majority of the elect of God have been and are born lost.  Therefore the true gospel must go out to all as no man knows the election status of another.  So those elect of God are instructed to take the gospel to the world that all may here it.  However, only those who heed the call have been chosen from before the foundation of the world: 1 Peter 2:9-10 and Ephesians 1:4.

In verse 8 the LORD has identified Himself and He has once again reaffirmed His holy name.  He expresses His sentiments openly as He states “…my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images”.  This is one of many pitfalls of the lost.  They worship everything from pagan philosophies to their own beliefs on to nothing at all and we were all created to worship and honor the God of the Bible: Revelation 14:7.

Isaiah 42:9

This is the action of our Lord GOD as He brings about the passage of time and times again He tells His elect of all that He will do.  In adequate time He will bring all things to the understanding of His elect that they will bring them to the world.  Through His enlightening His elect we all can know, if one will hear it, that Judgment Day will be 153 days beginning on May 21, 2011 and ending on October 21, 2011.[1]

Isaiah 42:10-12

In verse 10 our Lord GOD is speaking to the lost.  The LORD is telling them to praise Him; which they will never do.  They will only acknowledge and praise the gods of their own choosing.  We can know He is speaking to the lost as He says “…ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein”.  Looking at Revelation 7:2-3 we can know that the sea represents the lost.  Notice in Revelation 7:2 the LORD says “…to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea”.  Then in Revelation 7:3 He says “…Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads”.  Take notice of the mention of trees in verse 3.  These trees were not mentioned in verse 2 simply because the four angles did not come to harm the trees.  These trees represent the servants of God who are to be sealed in their foreheads.  Judgment Day represents the great hurt that is to come on the world and all the lost while those elected of God will be caught-up before the true terror of Judgment Day begins: 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.

In verses 11 and 12 we see our Lord GOD is admonishing the lost of the wilderness and the cities to lift up His name.  Unfortunately for them they will not as they are of the wilderness or the world and their praise is to their heathen idols, their false beliefs and themselves in their blatant disbelief.

Isaiah 42:13-15

In verse 13 the LORD express His anger as He has reached the end of His mercy; woe unto this world.  We can see in the first two phrases of verse 14 the LORD is speaking of verses 10 through 12; this is now.  This world is quickly approaching the end of the mercy of the LORD.  The final 2 phrases of verse 14 represent Judgment Day which is the end of the mercy of God.  In verse 15 the LORD says “I will make waste the mountains and hills”.  The mountains and hills spoken of are our Lord GOD referring to the lost: Micah 6:1-2 and Nahum 1:5.

Isaiah 42:16

In verse 16 we can know our Lord GOD is speaking of those who have been chosen.  For we are all blind and initially we all run in the way of the lost.  However, if we are elect of God when He calls we will come and that is when our Father “will make darkness light” before us and make crooked things straight and He will never forsake us: Hebrews 13:5.

Isaiah 42:17

All those who put their trust in anything other than the God of the Bible will be turned back and “greatly ashamed”: Proverbs 3:5-6.

Isaiah 42:18-20

In verse 18 our Lord GOD is speaking to all who are called and will be chosen.  In verse 19 the LORD explains the condition of His elect as we are to be oblivious to everything around us as we go forth to do His will: 2 Chronicles 34:1-2.

Isaiah 42:21

In the first phrase of verse 21 we see the LORD “is well pleased for His righteousness sake”; which is to say for His elect’s sake: 1 John 2:29.  We are pleasing to the LORD however, we must realize that it is not us, but it is the LORD in us: Jeremiah 1:18-19.

Isaiah 42:22-25

In verses 22 through 25 the LORD is telling of His punishment unto Israel as in verse 22 the LORD has given them all up.  Israel here represents the lost of this world.

In verse 23 the LORD cries “Who among you will give ear to this”.  We can see in Jeremiah 36:15-24 king Zedekiah’s reaction to the word of God.  These are essentially the sentiments of all mankind to the word of God; excluding only those who are called and chosen.  Many take what they will from the word and ignore the rest while others will have no part of it.

In verse 24 the LORD tells us it was His will to give Judah to Babylon that He would break the stiff neck of lost Judah.  Unfortunately there were those chosen of God among them, but God is always able to secure His in-spite of any situation as He will enable all of His to prosper as He sees fitting: Philippians 4:13.

In verse 25 we see the LORD is telling us after all He did to Judah it was to no end as they were just like people today, stiff necked, so they “laid it not to heart”.

Email Response

The following is my response to an email I received from the administrator of http://www.true2ourselves.com/login.php.  His email to me follows this response.  I have included this in my blog because upon completing it I found it was rejected by the sender.  However, I thought there was much to be learned from our correspondence so I have included it at this blog site.

Brother Harry,

We cannotprepare a place for Him” but, He has already prepared that place for Himself from before the foundation of the world: Ephesians 1:4.  Also, His birth in Bethlehem is accomplishing exactly what He intended and that is that all should know He is the one true God: Revelation 1:8 and 18.  Given this knowledge men will then accept Him or reject Him; they must do one or the other.  All those who will accept Him, and as it states in Romans 9:20-29 they are only a remnant, are those – “us” – spoken of in Ephesians 1:4.  All the rest of this world will not accept the God of the Bible as He is; or His plan of salvation as He has instituted it.  Regarding the hearts of men, all men desire things their own way.  No man is humble or of a truly contrite spirit.  God must humble every man that is humble and give unto him a truly contrite spirit.  If we look closely at Romans 9:23 we will see it reiterates Ephesians 1:4.  This is done in many places in the Bible to reaffirm the point that only God can save; regardless of what we may think, say or do.  Only God can give a man a truly humble heart and a contrite spirit: James 4:4-6.  The aforementioned verses in the Book of James cover the topics perfectly but, verses 7 and 8 require explanation.

In verse 7 we see “resist the devil, and he will flee from you”.  This we know must be comprehended with all the rest of the Bible as all the Bible is the word of God.  Therefore reading Revelation 1:8 we know that for anyone elect of God the devil is insignificant.  He must come to God’s elect through someone who is not elect as he cannot harass us directly.  Furthermore, Satan is under the foot of our God and anything he desires to do to anyone he must first ask it of God: Job 1:7-12.  Verse 8 says “draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you”.  This verse is also misleading as no man can “draw nigh to God”.  Going back to Ephesians 1:4 we see God has saved all those who will come unto Him; therefore, the initial action was God’s action and not ours.

Reading further I see in your email where you speak of faith; “if we have faith.” The LORD explains in Galatians 2:16 that all faith is His faith: “faith of Christ”.  It is not faith in Christ as faith in Christ is your faith and the “faint of Christ” is Christ’s faith.  If salvation were based on our faith we all would be saved.  This is why I always recommend the King James Bible.  I believe I have already addressed the issue of the Christ dwelling in us as His salvation was granted, unto those to whom it was granted, before the foundation of the world and they are only a remnant.  Romans 11:2-6 addresses both these issues as Romans 11:2 speaks of “His people which He foreknew” and Romans 11:5 is one of many verses in the Bible which speak of the remnant of God.

I appreciate your extension of holiday cheer and I truly wish you the best.  I am hoping this correspondence finds you at a most joyous time.

Subject: Prepare Your Hearts

The journey to Bethlehem is upon us.   Like that first Nativity, we have worldly authorities who want to count us among their number.   Yet God has a different plan to count us among His number. Like the first Nativity, there is no room at the fallen world’s inn for the Christ, and the Son of Man has no place to lay His head.   Therefore, we must prepare a place for Him to be born, and that place is our hearts.   For if He is not born in our hearts renewing them day by day, His birth in Bethlehem so many years ago is of no avail. For this to happen, the condition of our hearts must be like the conditions of His birth in the flesh: humble and lowly.   If we have faith, God will grant this great Gift of all gifts, His only-Begotten son to dwell in our hearts.   Toys and china will break, jewelry will fade, cars and homes will deteriorate and devalue, ipods and computer programs will shortly be obsolete, but this one Gift, that of the Lord Himself and His everlasting grace, shall remain anew and precious forever.

As the ancient troparion (festal hymn) of the feast of Christmas goes: “Your Nativity O Christ our God, has shown to the world the light of wisdom, for by it those who worshipped the stars, were taught by a start to adore You the Sun of Righteousness, and to know You the Orient from on High [Luke 1.78], O Lord glory to You.”

I wish you all a blessed feast of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ according to the flesh, with prayers that the Light that first shone forth in Bethlehem may shine also upon you and through you to others.
With the love of the God-man of Bethlehem,
Fr. Harry Linsinbigler

Isaiah 41

A Review of Isaiah 41
by Keith E Gardner
Always using the King James Bible

Isaiah 41:1

“Keep silent before Me, O islands” is the LORD commanding all to acknowledge Him.  Unfortunately this will not happen until it is too late.  “…and let the people renew their strength” is the LORD speaking of His elect.  “…let them come near; then let them speak” is the LORD commanding all the islands or the continents, all the people of the world, to hear His elect as He has given them what He desires the world to know.  “…let us come near together to judgment” is the LORD gathering all who are His to Himself in preparation for Judgment Day: Ezekiel 34:11-12.

Isaiah 41:2

The LORD is the God and the creator of all things therefore He determines who rules His world.  I the sight of the world they view their political leaders and those with monetary might as rulers; however the LORD has given true dominion to His elect.  As we see from this verse God has made His to rule over kings.  The verse continues to say “He gave them as dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow”.  This is the LORD and the power of His word.  As the elect take the word to the world they hear, take heed and are saved; or they hear, are offended and therefore become dust before the sword: Psalm 110:2.

Isaiah 41:3-4

“He persuaded them and passed safely” is the LORD speaking of His elect as we must pursue all with the word of God.  All whom we can reach are to hear the true word of God; however we are not to force the truth on anyone: Mark 6:11.  The LORD guarantees, if we have faith, that we will all pass safely: Jeremiah 1:16-19.  Reading Galatians 2:16 we see the faith of the Bible must be given by God; therefore the LORD already knows all who are His and we should never be dismayed.  In verse 4 we see the LORD declaring His preeminence as He states “I am He”.

Isaiah 41:5-7

The LORD is telling us in verse 5 of the dread He manifest in the world of the lost.  He says “the isles saw it, and feared”.  Our Lord God goes on speaking in verse 6 of the lost as they attempt to come together against Him; which is to say against all of His in this world.  In verse 7 the LORD is telling us of all their attempts to manufacture a god – material or intellectual – of their own design: Isaiah 44:18-20.

Isaiah 41:8-11

In verse 8 the LORD is clearly directing the verses that follow to “the seed of Abraham” His friend; the elect of God.  In verse 9 the LORD calls all who are His to Himself.  In verse 10 the LORD more fervently expressed the sentiments of Jeremiah 1:19.  In verse 11 He tells of the end for all who strive with His as we go forth doing His will.

Isaiah 41:12

The LORD will handle all those who see fit to plague His elect.  As the time will come when we will “seek them, and shall not find them”.  This does not necessarily mean they have been destroyed at the present time.  It simply means they have been moved or preoccupied and sometimes yes, they have been destroyed: Psalm 63:7-10.

Isaiah 41:13-14

The LORD will guide, support, protect and bless all who are His.  For before God we are all worms and we desperately need His protection.  Jacob and the men of Israel are all the elect of God as He is their redeemer, “the Holy One of Israel”: Psalm 19:14.

Isaiah 41:15

The threshing instrument which the LORD has made for His is the word of God.  “…thou shalt thresh the mountains and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff”.  This is the activity of all who are elect of God.  The mountains and hills in this verse refer to the lost and the elect will beat them small and make them as chaff with the word of God.  The truth of the word will only be accepted by those who are elect of God while it will be misunderstood and disregarded by others: 1 Corinthians 1:22-24.

Isaiah 41:16

All who are not elect of God will refuse the truth of the gospel. However, because they refuse it, that will not disannul it.  They are simply being marked for the destruction to come.  Therefore they are being scattered and lost in the whirlwind while the elect of God will rejoice before our God who does everything perfectly: 2 Corinthians 4:1-6.

Isaiah 41:17

The Israel of God are all His elect.  We are always thirsty for the word of God and in this verse we see our Lord God will never forsake us: Hebrews 13:5.

Isaiah 41:18

“I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys.” The valleys represent the hearts of all the elect; for we are all lowly in spirit.  The rivers in high places represent the water of the gospel which the LORD is opening in heaven and flowing to the fountains in the midst of the valleys.  The second portion of this verse is almost a reiteration of the first.  It states the LORD will flood this entire world, the wilderness, with the pool of water that is His gospel: Mark 13:10.

Isaiah 41:19-20

In verse 19 we see the LORD speaking of His elect as trees He will plant in the wilderness and in the desert.  We can know these are the elect of God because in verse 20 the LORD says this is done “that they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together”.  As we read the Bible we see time and time again our Lord God will only give understanding to His elect: Proverbs 2:6-7.

Isaiah 41:21-29

In verse 21 all who are elect of God are represented here as Jacob and the LORD is our King.  In verses 22 thru 29 the LORD is speaking to the lost.  We see in verses 22 and 23 the LORD is taunting the lost.

In verse 24 the LORD ends the taunt as He blatantly says to the lost “ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you”.  This is the LORD speaking to all the churches and the world as all those who are not in the church will ultimately come down on one side of the fence or the other.  There is no point in-between. Everyone is either elect of God or lost to God and whether the lost are church members or not they are still lost.  However those who do not attend the churches but are lost can cry out to God and, if it’s done in sincerity, God will have mercy on them: 1 Kings 21:25-29.

In verse 25 the LORD says “I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come”.  Looking at this portion of the verse in light of verses like Isaiah 14:12-13 and Jeremiah 1:13-16 we see Satan is associated with the north.  “…from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name.” Since the solar system will continue as it has gone on from the beginning of time this portion of the verse can’t be referring to the sun in the sky.  I believe “the sun” here is referring to the LORD just as in Psalm 19:4.  Also, Satan is referred to as the “son of the morning” in Isaiah 14:12, therefore, in light of this I believe this clause says from the rising of the LORD, to the judgment of this world, Satan shall call upon the name of the LORD.  We know from many verses in the Bible that Satan and all his demons are but servants of All Mighty God.  Consequently before Satan can punish anyone he must call upon the LORD that our Lord God will allow him to do as He desires done: Job 1:7-12“…and he shall come upon princes as morter and as the potter treadeht clay.” Once the LORD gives Satan the parameters of punishment for an individual he will proceed to torment that individual just as he did Job.  I believe it is from the book of Job that we get a glimpse of Satan’s role, as well as several other significant issues, in the judgment plan of the LORD.

In verse 26 the LORD makes it clear that He is the Alpha and the Omega as “there is none” besides Him as He is the one who is three.  In verse 27 the LORD is speaking in His duality as He tells of giving Himself to His elect.  “The first shall say to Zion” is our Lord God referring to Himself as “the first”.  He continues with “…I will give to Jerusalem one that bringeth good tidings”.  In this portion of the verse the LORD is referring to Himself in the first person singular as “I” and in the third person singular as “one that bringeth”.

In verse 28 the LORD speaks to the empty state of a man’s mind and ultimately his life without God.  A man knows nothing and consequently he can do nothing of any eternal value without the blessing of the wisdom of God.  Therefore, as we see in verse 29, man without the wisdom of God is lost.  His life will be guided by a slew of vain pursuits ultimately ending leaving that man dead in soul and body.

Isaiah 40

A Review of Isaiah 40
by Keith E Gardner
Always using the King James Bible

Isaiah 40:1-2

In this first verse we see the LORD telling His elect to be at ease.

In verse 2 the LORD tells His elect to “speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem” or the church.  “Cry unto her that her that her warfare is accomplished” which is to say that the LORD recognizes her blatant disregard for His truth.  “… that her iniquity is pardoned:” for the LORD will pardon the iniquity of the church after the completion of Judgment Day.  “… for she hath received of the LORD’s hand double for her sins.” In this portion of the verse the LORD is assuring the church of compensation for all her sins: Ezekiel 7:3-14.  The words of Ezekiel 7 are toward the church and the world of today just as they were toward Jerusalem and Judah of old.  Also notice the LORD says “hath received”.  He speaks in the past tense because He has seen and knows from the beginning on until and even beyond the end of time or the end of this world.

Isaiah 40:3

In verse 3 we can see the LORD giving all who are His the command to take the gospel forth unto the world; to take the water of the true gospel unto the wilderness and the desert.  That all will know, whether they accept it or not, of His coming: Jude 1:14-16

Isaiah 40:4

“Every valley shall be exalted” in this instance is the LORD speaking of all His elect: Ezekiel 37:2-6.  All who are of God are lowly in this world.  Our socioeconomic status is irrelevant as all who are of God know they are only servants of our Most High God and we zealously go about doing whatever the LORD has put before us.  “Every mountain and every hill shall be made low” is speaking of the lost who, regardless of their social status, view God as they chose and therefore are not lowly servants of the LORD and their end shall be according to their works: Revelation 8:8“The crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain” is the LORD bringing the last of His elect unto Himself.

Isaiah 40:5

Verse 5 is speaking of Judgment Day when “the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together”.  This will be the rapture of all the elect of God: Revelation 11:11-13.

Isaiah 40:6-8

Verses 6 thru 8 are the LORD addressing the pride of man.  He says “all flesh is grass” which is to say we will all flourish for a time and perish thereafter.  There is no glory in any of us for we are all but reeds: Isaiah 19:5-7.  However we are reminded and we must always remember the Godhead is forever.

Isaiah 40:9

In the first half of verse 9 the LORD speaks of the Zion of heaven “that bringest good tidings”.  He parallels this with “get thee up into the high mountain” therefore we see in this verse His reference to “high mountain” is not a reference to the lost.  “O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings” is the LORD refereeing to His elect on this earth.  He is telling us to “lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid”.  Here He is telling all of His elect to take His word forth unto the world without fear.  He desires that all of His elect say unto the world “Behold your God”.  If we read Mark 6:7-13 we see the LORD is telling us there how lost men supersede His law.

Isaiah 40:10

“Behold, the Lord God will come with strong hand, and His arm shall rule for Him” is the LORD telling all that He shall come with a rod of iron.  He comes bringing His reward to His elect: Revelation 11:18.  He also comes at that time to bring His judgment; as His work, the work of Judgment Day, is before Him.

Isaiah 40:11

“He shall feed His flock like a shepherd: He shall gather His lambs with His arms, and carry them in His bosom” is the LORD expressing His love for all His elect.  The verse concludes with “and shall gently lead those that are with young”.  This part of the verse I am not clear on.  At first glance one would think it’s the females with young children who are also elect of God.  However it could also represent those whom each of the elect have witnessed unto and the LORD, through His word, drew them unto Himself.  I am not at all certain about this so, I will not make any suppositions.

Isaiah 40:12-14

Verse 12 speaks of the glory of the LORD as only He can speak of what He has done in this verse.  From the waters to the heavens to the dust of the earth which includes man, animals and all vegetation on to the mountains and hills all of which the LORD created with a thought.  The Godhead is truly Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent as they are the three who are one: John 10:30.   He is the Alpha and the Omega and all things were and are created by Him: Revelation 4:11.

He and He alone is the designer and the craftsman by whom all that exists has been made.  No one can give wisdom to wisdom or share understanding with understanding or make available knowledge to knowledge.  He is the beginning and the end of everything therefore we must praise His holy name now, always and forever.

Isaiah 40:15

“Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance.” This is the LORD telling of the insignificants of man as He depicts men as the “small dust of the balance”“… behold, He taketh up the isles as a very little thing” is telling us, without question, the LORD views all the nations of the world as near nothing; “a very little thing”.  As all men are dust before our All Mighty God: Genesis 3:19.

Isaiah 40:16

This entire verse is a testament to the insignificants of mankind, his life and all his accomplishments.  Nothing we see, know or feel relating to this life without God means anything.  It is all a forest allowing all those who do not desire to focus on the LORD to redirect their focus into the arena of their choosing.  Unfortunately for them, all they sought and do seek is for naught as the LORD will soon require payment from everyone of them.  His elect He will save from Judgment Day and we will all go to serve Him: 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.  The non-elect will be left on this sin-cursed earth for the days of torment to come: Revelation 11:13.  In Revelation 11:13 the LORD says “the tenth part of the city fell”.  The number ten and multiples of ten in the Bible mean completeness, therefore this verse is saying the whole city fell.  This is to say the whole world will fall on Judgment Day.  Seven also means completeness which is the LORD viewing the end of Judgment Day at its very beginning.  This says there will not be a remnant to give glory to God because at the end there will be none left.  It fits perfectly with Revelation 16:9 as we know lost man will never give God His glory.

Isaiah 40:17

In verse 17 we see the LORD is telling us of the things of this world including the religious leaders and scientific minds as well as the “big money makers” that have, are and will come into prominence before our end.  He says “All nations before Him are as nothing; and they are counted to Him less than nothing, and vanity”.  So, seek God with all the heart and soul you can for the understanding of His way is the prize.

Isaiah 40:18-25

In verses 18 thru 25 the LORD plainly speaks of mans desire to manufacture a god.  This has been the dilemma of mankind from the days of Enoch on until today as most men have sought their own gods.  Whether they were idols of wood, stone, silver, gold or their gods may simply be – as most are today – any interpretation of the Bible men desire.  However, the true gospel of God is not open to interpretation.

Many people today read the word of God and draw from it what they want to believe.  This invariably incorporates an obvious twisting of the truth but, to those whom the LORD has not enlightened it appears to be gospel.  In verse 18 the LORD asks the question to which there is no answer.  In verses 19 and 20 the LORD is speaking not only of the images that men make but, He is also speaking of the false beliefs men hold; as many do today.  In verses 21 and 22 the LORD is actually stating, in a way that says men do know, that He is the Almighty One.  “… and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers”.  This is what the majority of the great scientific minds do not want to accept.  They are plagued with the Napoleon complex and the truth of the LORD’s word simply will not fit with their desired perceptions of themselves; one must go.  So consequent to the ego of man they refuse the truth of God.

In verse 23 the LORD goes on telling us of His ultimate control over all the earth including men.  In verse 24 the LORD tells of His intensions for all those who refuse to give Him His glory.  “Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and He shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.” In verse 25 the LORD reiterates the question offered in verse 18; the question to which the only answer is no answer.

Isaiah 40:26

In verse 26 the LORD tells us to “lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things”.  He is the creator of all things.  No matter how they try the scientific community cannot put together a plausible theory for the creation of the universe, this world or anything on it.  Their attempts to explain the creations of the LORD without mentioning the LORD cannot even be considered feeble.

Isaiah 40:27

In verse 27 the LORD is speaking of those who think the LORD will not judge them.  It appears they believe their deeds are hidden from His sight.

Isaiah 40:28-30

In verse 28 the LORD says once more that He and God are one and together they are the Alpha and the Omega.  They are the creators of all things created and there are none that could be compared to the Godhead.

Verse 29 reiterates the LORD is the giver of all things.  If it is not His will, it will not be.  Looking at verse 30 we see it further substantiates verse 29 as without the blessing of God no man shall stand.

Isaiah 40:31

In verse 31 we see the LORD speaking of His elect; “… they that wait upon the LORD.” He will renew our strength through prayer enabling us to do all things He desires in His name.
