Isaiah 44:1-2

In verse 1 the LORD begins a discourse unto His chosen.

In verse 2 the LORD is telling all of His elect to “Fear not” for He will help us all as we go forth unto this world to do His will.  None who are chosen of God are their own.  We are chosen by God Almighty and we have been bought by the LORD at an incomprehensible price to do His will and to do His work: Titus 2:14.

Isaiah 44:3

In verse 3 we see the self-fulfilling prophesy as the elect of God take His word unto the world.  Through His word, the water of the gospel, the LORD will call all who hear it and He will choose His elect from amongst them.  This is the consequence of the flood of the gospel upon this world which the LORD characterizes as “dry ground”.  In the second half of this verse we see the LORD speaking of all those bought in as the seed and the offspring of those He has sent forth with His gospel.  Please understand our Lord GOD in this sense is not speaking of children bought about by earthly means but, He is speaks of His children bought unto Him by the women, in this instance His elect, who take His gospel forth unto the world.  As a consequence of hearing the true word of God all of those ordained from the foundation of the world will come unto Him: Matthew 25:34.

Isaiah 44:4

The offspring, or those called and chosen, will “spring up as among the grass”.  That is to say those chosen from among the mass will begin to standout as they will learn the ways of our Lord GOD.  They will no longer run with the world or do those things intrinsic to this life for they “are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, and holy nation, a peculiar people” called and chosen of God: 1 Peter 2:9.

Isaiah 44:5-7

In verse 5 we see our Lord GOD speaking of all the churches and their self-proclaimed faiths.  We can know this is what the LORD is speaking of as He says “…and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name of Israel”.  In 1 Corinthians 3:3-6 we see the LORD speaking of this very thing.  We have all also seen this as the self-proclaimed children of God throw their hands in the air to worship and honor the god of their choosing.  This is exactly what the LORD speaks of.

In verse 6 we see the LORD following verse 5 with the reminder that He is the Alpha and the Omega.  To worship anyone or anything else is blasphemy and it will not go unpunished for our Lord GOD is a jealous God: Nahum 1:2.

In verse 7 our Lord GOD is further substantiating what He has stated in verse 6.  That He is the one true God and there is none beside Him.

Isaiah 44:8

In verse 8 the LORD is telling all who are His to fear not.  He is telling His to have no fear of the end to come as He says “have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it?” His declaration is and will be clear to all whom the LORD has chosen for as we read His word we see and understand His truth.  The expression “from that time” could have a dual meaning.  It could mean from the time our LORD began to open the end-time truth to the world or it could be individualized meaning from the time He bought it to each of His elect.  However once His elect know we have then become His witnesses and it is incumbent upon us to sow His seed of truth everywhere He will make it possible.  This is the mission of those elect of God; to tell the world of our one true God.

Isaiah 44:9-17

The graven images spoken of in verse 9 are not necessarily idols as are statues or paintings but, they are also ideas.  In society today these images are primarily the ideas and beliefs of the churches and their congregations.  The atheist and the agnostics suffer with the worship of their self-image making them as guilty as the congregations as they “are all of them vanity”.  It is evident throughout all history that a man must worship something.  This is actually innate to all of mankind as all of those who do not worship something external are then worshiping themselves.  Their ideas or beliefs “shall not profit” them as the LORD will require payment for all of their sins: Isaiah 30:9-15.  “They are their own witnesses” as the churches change the word of God to suit themselves and the atheist and agnostics simply ignore it in lieu of their own desires but, in Matthew 22:3-7 the LORD tells us what is in store for all who are of these people.  “They see not nor know; that they may be ashamed” and oh, what a blissful but horrible situation they are in.

In verse 10 our Lord GOD asks the question that was, is and always will be the most relevant as the answer to this question determines a man’s eternal fate.  “Who hath formed a god?” Any one who accepts any god other than the God of the Bible has formed their own god: Isaiah 44:9.  Who is the God of the Bible? Well let us look at who He is not.

In verse 11 the LORD says “…all his fellows shall be ashamed”.  As you read further in this verse you’ll see “his fellows” are all those who do not know the one true God.  For none who belong to our Lord GOD will fear or be ashamed: Psalm 37:18-19 and Isaiah 29:22-23.

In verse 12 the LORD speaks to the humanity of man or the weakness of a man.  The LORD says “yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh not water, and is faint”. The LORD is telling us here of the limitations of a man.  Therefore how is it possible that man with his very finite capabilities could make a god of infinite power? The gods made by men, whether material of intellectual, are even less than nothing as they not only will not serve the purpose for which they were made but, they are less than nothing as they will dam all who bow down or pay a tithe to them.

In verses 13 thru 17 the LORD is telling us of the construction of an idol however, we must remember that idols are not only physical but intellectual as well.  So, at the time which the LORD is speaking physical idolatry was in vogue.  However, although physical idolatry does still exist in many beliefs it is the intellectual idols that have experienced phenomenal growth.  As the LORD prepares the world for Judgment Day we will see the continued proliferation of all types of faiths throughout the world and this is because God has given up all those who are not elect of Him for damnation: Acts 7:41-43.

Isaiah 44:18

In verse 18 we see the reason for the ardent rejection of the truth of God.  Our God has “…shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand”.  The consequence of which is they will go in their own way believing as they each desire even manufacturing the gods of their choosing: Isaiah 4:1.

Isaiah 44:19-20

In verses 19 and 20 we see clearly the consequence of the action taken by God in verse 18.  For as God has blinded them and hardened their hearts we see mankind drifting further into oblivion.  As the end draws closer we will see more of mankind “being written” off by God as they are exposed to His truth and they reject it.  By the end-time the LORD will have His sheep clearly separated from the goats: Matthew 25:31-34.

Isaiah 44:21

“Remember these” the LORD says to His elect as He speaks of the lost.  Then the LORD continues telling His elect “thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me”.  Our Lord GOD brings His truth to all, but aside from those elect of God few others will heed His call.  If any who are not elect of God do heed His call He will have mercy on them: 1 Kings 21:27-29.

Isaiah 44:22-28

In verse 22 we see the LORD has redeemed all of His elect.  We can see in verse 23 our Lord GOD is and always will receive the glory, honor and praise due unto Him for His great sacrifice for His elect.  Looking at verse 24 we see our Lord GOD has known all of His from the womb as He is the great “I Am” responsible for all things.  We see in verses 25-28 the LORD leaves no stone unturned.  He is in control of all things and nothing will proceed nor will anything cease unless it is the will of the Godhead.

Isaiah 43:1

The LORD knows all who are His as He has called and chosen them all before the foundation of the world: Ephesians 1:4.

Isaiah 43:2

Our Lord God goes before all of His elect to lay the path that we are to take through life.  If we follow His way He will safeguard us with every step: Psalm 23:3-4 and Proverb 2:7-9.

Isaiah 43:3

The LORD is our savior and without His blessing no one will know salvation, Revelation 22:11-13, for the LORD is the giver of every good and perfect gift and salvation is the ultimate gift: James 1:17.  The LORD knows the beginning from the end and He has already made the choice of who He would save, Matthew 25:31-34, and they are only a remnant: Isaiah 10:20-22.  We see in the second half of the verse that the LORD has given up the rest of the world to sin as a ransom for His elect: Revelation 13:3-8.

Isaiah 43:4

In verse 4 we get verification of verse 3 as the LORD says “Since thou wast precious in my sight…therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life”.  These people are the lost whom the LORD has given over to sin as a ransom for His elect.  Egypt, Ethiopia and Sheba are all representations of those counted among the lost.

Isaiah 43:5-6

The LORD will say “Fear not” as He will bring all who are His together for Judgment Day.  He will gather the seed which He empowered His elect to plant and water from the east and the west: 1 Corinthians 3:4-6.  “I will say to the north, Give up” is the LORD taking His elect from Satan’s kingdom which we are all born into: 1 Peter 2:7-10 and Acts 26:16-18.  The LORD continues saying “and to the south, keep not back” as the south represents the Kingdom of the LORD which is responsible for the destruction to come after the LORD has raptured all of His elect.

Isaiah 43:7

In verse 7 the LORD is telling of His elect whom He has created to praise His holy name.

Isaiah 43:8-9

In verse 8 our Lord GOD is sending forth His elect to call unto the world that all may know of the one true God.  However, only those elect of Him will hear and heed His call: John 6:44.

In verse 9 out Lord GOD continues to speak to the lost.  He points out the lack of wisdom they suffer with as a consequence of their blindness.

Isaiah 43:10

In verse 10 the LORD has taken His chosen from amongst the mass.  Starting in the verse we have “…that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am He.” Please notice the order in which the LORD has delivered the first two clauses of this verse.  They clearly explain the Bible’s meaning of the term believe when used in this context.  Look closely and you will notice that you must be a witness of the LORD or chosen by God before you can know, believe or understand Him.  Therefore, based on this portion of the verse and many others in the Bible that explain the same concept, your works will not save you as you must be called and chosen before you can believe and that is clearly the domain of God: John 3:8, Galatians 2:16 and Ephesians 2:8-9.  The LORD closes the verse reminding us that He is the Alpha and the Omega.

Isaiah 43:11-13

In verse 11 the LORD repeats the truth with which He closed verse 10; “I am the LORD”.

In verse 12 our Lord GOD is speaking of His elect and we know this for the Lord GOD says “I have declared, and have saved”; the LORD will only save His elect.  This is further verified as the LORD says “…and I have shewed, when there was not strange god among you”.  The only time in a man’s existence when there is no “strange god” is after the one true God has called and chosen him.  Before salvation every man, without regard to his church affiliation or his blatant disbelief, is worshiping a strange god.  Even atheists who say they worship no god actually worship themselves.  The LORD closes verse 12 speaking of His elect, He says “therefore ye are my witnesses saith the LORD, that I am God”.

Verse 13 can be reiterated as follows.  The LORD was even before the world; His word is final as He is the Alpha and the Omega and all things will be as He has preordained they shall be including the fate of every man; the LORD will do His will and there is none who can intervene.

Isaiah 43:14

The LORD opens verse 14 introducing Himself to all the world.  He continues in the verse with “For your sake I have sent to Babylon and have bought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships”.  I will proceed with this last half of the verse taking it in parts.  The LORD has sent to Babylon and we already know Babylon, in many places in the Bible including here, is the kingdom of Satan or the world minus those elect of God.  The sentence continues with “…and have bought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans”.  These are the things to transpire during Judgment Day.  The LORD has bought down all of those who are lost to Him.  The nobles are all those who are high and lifted up while the Chaldeans are those who are lowly in means but not in spirit.  “…whose cry is in the ships” or the joys and pleasures of this world: Isaiah 22:12-14.  We can see many places in the Bible where ships are representative of the world; as we see in Matthew 4:21-22 where the LORD gives another example of His calling His elect from the world.  Once our Lord GOD has chosen us out of this world our cry will always be unto Him: Psalm 34:17-21.

Isaiah 43:15-17

In verse 15 the LORD tells us who He is and in verse 16 He tells us what He does as He makes a way for all in this life.  In verse 17 the LORD is telling us how He has long before determined all things will be: Exodus 9:14-16.  In Exodus 9:16 He is telling us, symbolically, of the end of this world as the vase majority of people have been raised up for destruction.

Isaiah 43:18

In verse 18 the LORD has taken all who are His to heaven: Isaiah 65:17.

Isaiah 43:19

In verse 19 we see the LORD has come back to the current sequence of events.  “Behold I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?” This is our Lord GOD referring to the end of the church age.  “I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” is the LORD working through His elect to get the true gospel to all the lost world outside of the churches.

Isaiah 43:20

“The beast of the field shall honor me, the dragons and the owls.” The characterization of the lost as beast or dragons and the owls is seen throughout the book of Isaiah.  These are all the lost who will be left behind on Judgment Day.  “…because I give water in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.” The chosen are all those who will be raptured on the first day of Judgment Day in the site of all the lost.  It is for this the lost will honor the LORD as all the atheists and agnostics will be forced to acknowledge, not only that God does exist but, that all power is His.  All church members will be forced to honor the one true God as they will see the fulfillment of scripture.  However none of these will humble themselves before the LORD as they will refuse to accept their error.  They will not be able to accept their error as the time will have passed for forgiveness and the LORD will remove all humility from them allowing their hearts to harden.  It will be a reiteration of what our Lord God offers in Exodus 9:16 but, at this time His name will be declared only by those who are truly His throughout all heaven.

Isaiah 43:21

We see in verse 21 our Lord GOD speaks of His elect as the people He has formed for Himself.  He has preordained all of His elect that when we are chosen we will show forth His praise: Psalm 119:7.

Isaiah 43:22-25

In verses 22-25 the LORD is speaking of His elect.  In verse 22 He says we have not called upon Him and that we have been weary of Him.  In verse 23 we see our Lord GOD continues to tell us what we have not done.  All of these things are obviously time related and if viewed in the present they would be different.  However the LORD makes the reason for this behavior clear as He states “I have not caused thee to serve with an offering nor wearied thee with incense”.  This actually says, although you are elect, I have not yet chosen you to serve.  Nearly all men are born lost and if they are elect they are chosen at a time predetermined by God.  Until that time we will all do just as our lost brethren for until we are called and chosen we are dead in soul and body: John 6:44.  In verse 24 the LORD continues to tell how His elect are just like the world until they are chosen.  In verse 25 our Lord GOD has chosen His and He “will not remember thy sins”.

Isaiah 43:26-28

The LORD has chosen His from among the mass.  In verses 26 thru 28 we see what will happen to those who are not chosen.  Beginning with verse 26 we see the LORD is appealing to the lost to plead with Him that they be justified.  Whether they may be justified or not will depend upon their sincerity.  Unfortunately we know most of the lost do not acknowledge the one true God therefore we can know that a vast majority of them will not cry unto Him.  The consequence of this is they will not be justified and they will be forced to make full payment for their sins.

In verse 27 we see the LORD is telling us there will be no help from their earthly parents or ministers as in most cases they are also lost.

In verse 28 we can know the LORD has dammed the ministers, princes of the sanctuaries, and all who have followed them to their predetermined portion of the last 153 day.  Take note here that the LORD is using Jacob and Israel to represent the lost.  This is because there is a Jacob and an Israel of God, the elect, and a Jacob and an Israel that are to be dammed: Isaiah 41:8 and Isaiah 42:24-25.
