Isaiah 66

Isaiah 66:1-2

In verse 1 the LORD poses a question.  The purpose of this question is to enunciate His supremacy.  However it should also make clear to all who read it that no man accepts the LORD.  As the LORD says in verse 1 “where is the house that ye build unto me?”  This is our Lord GOD clearly saying He needs us, for nothing.  Therefore all those people who think they are coming to the LORD when they go to their church, they are only fooling themselves.  The LORD will grant salvation only unto those He chooses and He chose them before the foundation of the world: Ephesians 1:3-5.  For all those who believe otherwise and will not humble themselves before Him He has written 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12.

In verse 2 the LORD opens with “For all those things hath mine hand made”.  He is telling us once again He is Alpha and Omega the creator and master of all things; including mankind.  He continues with “but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word”.  The LORD is telling us of men like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel and all the prophets of the Bible.  Even those of us today who fear, honor, obey and respect His word greatly.  For to respect His word is to love Him and to truly love and understand Him we must be called and chosen of Him.  Although those who are not His elect will not know Him they can know of Him through His word.  All these who will seek Him He will have mercy on them both in this life and in their end while those who seek their own desires He will punish: Isaiah 1:16-20.  Please read verses 19 and 20 then realize the called and chosen of the LORD are not given this choice; neither do we want it.  However among the lost there are a few who will acknowledge the will of the LORD and a majority who will not; these verses speak of those two groups.  At the cross the Christ paid for the sins of the world, 1 John 2:1-2, therefore He can offer a blessed life and a comfortable death to the lost who humble themselves before Him.

Isaiah 66:3

In verse 3 the LORD speaks of killing an ox being as if one slew a man, sacrificing a lamb as if one cut off a dogs neck, offering oblations is as offering swine’s blood and burning incenses is like blessing an idol.  These are all pictures of the beliefs of the lost as the LORD says “Yea, they have chosen their own way, And their soul delighteth in their abominations”.  These abominations are the false doctrines of the many faiths that are active today.  They vary so because they have all written their own laws and they desire the LORD to accept them: Isaiah 4:1.  In the law of the LORD the number seven represents completeness, or all, and the LORD very often characterizes mankind as women.  So in Isaiah 4:1 all the people who attend the churches are asking the LORD, the one man, to accept their ways and throw out His own.  If you finish reading Isaiah 4:1 this explanation becomes obvious; too bad for lost mankind as this will never happen.  For only the LORD writes the law and He knew the criteria He would establish for salvation before the world was.  So to all those who do not accept His law and write their own instead, the LORD has written Romans 9:20-23 that all men may know it is only the will of the LORD that matters.

Isaiah 66:4

In verse 4 the LORD says “I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them”.  The LORD chooses ones delusions as He sends Satan unto them and Satan comes as embezzlement, thief, adultery, drugs and alcohol addiction, and a seemingly endless list of other vises.  These are all delusions to mankind as while we are engaged in the activity it seems good, beneficial and even exciting; however the end is always disastrous.   The LORD will also bring their fears upon them as HIV/AIDS; Herpes Simplex 1 or 2; Hepatitis A through H; Chlamydia; a slew of cancers and countless other ailments.  These are not incidental or coincidental things, but very often they are a punishment from the LORD.  The LORD closes this verse explaining why He brings these things to mankind and the reason is clear.  He says “because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear; but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not”.  This sentiment is repeated constantly throughout the entire Bible and it is clearly the reason the LORD had to die once in soul before the foundation of the world for His called and chosen “only” and then in body at the cross for “everyone”.  The LORD saw this world without His salvation and recognized its urgent need: Isaiah 59:12-16.

Isaiah 66:5

In verse 5 the LORD is speaking to His called and chosen and He is telling us of things to come.  He is enlightening us with the assurance that those who cast us from their place of worship were only doing His will.  For the time has come that we are to leave those places and take the true word of the LORD unto the world until He comes: Isaiah 62:6-12.  In Isaiah 62:6-7 Jerusalem is not yet a place but, it is a people.  Jerusalem in these verses represents the elect of God and the LORD has set His called and chosen as watchmen who are to take His gospel unto the world until He comes.  We are to gather His elect unto Him until He says we are finished.  Isaiah 62:6-12 is written to the called and chosen about those elect of the LORD; the daughter of Zion: Isaiah 62:11.  All the called and chosen, and the elect, are the daughters of the LORD: John 12:14-15.

Isaiah 66:6

In verse 6 we read “A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple”.  We know from many other verses the LORD repeats Himself to drive home a point.  The point here is “the city” and “the temple” are one in the site of God as they are both lost together.  We also know the temple is synonymous for the church so, He is saying a voice of noise comes from the city and the same comes from the church.  This is saying the city, the world, and the temple, the church, are one in every respect.  The LORD is sending noise or confusion unto the temple and the world for they would not hear Him when He called as they preferred their own way, therefore, He is giving them up that they will be dammed: Jeremiah 7:8-16.  The verse closes with “a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompense to His enemies”.  With this phrase the meaning of the verse is solidified as the noise in the world and the church become clear.  The noise is the blinding of the eyes and the deafening of the ears the LORD is bringing to these people as He speaks to them with stammering lips and another tongue: Isaiah 28:7-13.

Just as in Jeremiah 7:13 in Isaiah 28:11-13 the LORD tells us He has taken them His truth, but they would not hear.  So, He will then give them up to their reprobate minds, Romans 1:28-32, as He begins to speak unto them with stammering lips and another tongue.  This, unfortunately, is exactly what they want because they don’t want His truth.

Isaiah 66:7-9

In verses 7 and 8 the LORD is speaking of Zion which is used here as a representation of all the churches.  He is telling us of the quick and inadequate way all the churches took a small piece of His truth and ran.  They would not hear any more than the small amount the LORD initially gave mankind; consequently they don’t have truth.  The LORD trains His called and chosen very often for a lifetime, Isaiah 28:9-10, while a church minister has, at best, a Phd from an inferior source.  Consequently the average theologian has comparatively instantly become a scriptural guru.

Each faith trains their students to take what their faith is willing to accept from the word of God and add whatever else their faith desires.  From these new additions come the multitude of faiths we have today; Judaism, Protestantism, Catholicism, the Muslim faith and a multitude of others the vast majority of which I am not aware.  They all start with a small seed of truth and then blossom into whatever that particular faith wants to accept.  Consequently the lost have their choice of the god they will accept which is any god but the one true God.  For the one true God has given us His word, the King James Bible, and there is only one comprehension of His word as the LORD does not deal in confusion to those who truly seek Him: Revelation 22:18-21.  In verse 9 the LORD puts the issue to bed with a couple questions which emphasize His view of the man derived half-bate church doctrines.

Isaiah 66:10

In the first clause of verse 10 we read “Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her”.  Our Lord GOD here is speaking to His called and chosen as only His called and chosen will know and love the New Jerusalem.

In the second clause of the verse the LORD is still speaking to His called and chosen as it is only His called and chosen who truly mourn for the New Jerusalem and the Christ.  We can also know from Isaiah 65:17-19 the New Jerusalem and the New Earth are one.  Therefore the called and chosen of God will cohabit there with the LORD forever.  It is only at this time the called and chosen will truly be contented, as then and only then will all things be right with our soul and body.

Isaiah 66:11-13

In verses 11 and 12 the LORD is telling us of our existence in the New Earth, the New Jerusalem.  In verse 13 we see our Lord GOD has been speaking of Himself as Jerusalem as He tells us all in verse 13 He will comfort us.  So, yes, there will be a New Jerusalem which the LORD will establish for His called and chosen.  It will be the New Earth and He will comfort His in the New Jerusalem or the New Earth.

Isaiah 66:14

Verse 14 is speaking of the elation those elect of God will experience as we each truly recognize for the first time, and for evermore, the countless blessings of the LORD.  We will then see and recognize His blessings unto us always and for all eternity.  However those lost to the LORD will never know this joy.

Isaiah 66:15-16

In verse 15 and 16 the LORD is telling of His wrath to come.  Although it says in verse 16 the LORD will plead with all flesh, please realize He is not coming begging.  In this life all mankind will be presented the truth of our Lord GOD and every person will accept or reject it: 1 Kings 21:27-29 and Jeremiah 2:25-26.  The LORD will have mercy toward all the lost who will acknowledge His truth and attempt to humble themselves before Him: Zephaniah 2:2-3.  However those who will go their own way seeking their own desires will experience His full and complete wrath: Isaiah 10:15-19.

All who were chosen, to include the elect of God, are exempt form this as we have no choice: Matthew 4:18-20.  All those elect will be called and chosen and all the chosen the LORD will claim before He brings His wrath:  Isaiah 66:18-24.

Isaiah 66:17

In verse 17 it says “They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens”.  This verse is speaking entirely of the lost.  It is telling us of those who “sanctify themselves” via their own gospels ignoring the truth of the LORD.  We can know from verses like Isaiah 1:8 the LORD is referring to His as the “cottage” in the vineyard, as the “lodge” in the garden of cucumbers and as the besieged city.  The vineyard is the world filled with the lost and the garden of cucumbers is simply another representation of the world filled with the multitude of those lost as we are besieged because we are surrounded on all sides.  In Isaiah 1:30 we once again see the LORD draw the parallel between the lost and the garden as He says “For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth and as a garden that hath no water”.  In the original word of God verse 17 continues with “… one after another one in the midst” which is referring to the congregations led by the church leaders.  The verse closes with “… eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD”.  The LORD is making it clear that all those who take part of this will perish together.

Isaiah 66:18-19

In Isaiah 66:18 the LORD is speaking of the lost as He says “… I know their works and their thoughts”.  That in the end He will gather them all and they will witness the end of time.  In verse 19 the LORD is telling all of His, “those that escape of them”, to take His gospel unto the world that we will bring all of His elect from all over the world unto Him.  Please notice the shift in the sequence of events as the LORD speaks of the end and then goes back to times before the end.  The book of Isaiah was written before the New Testament, about 750-680 BC, and notice our Lord GOD is using the techniques many film directors and writers have only very recently begun to employ; starting with the end and going back to the beginning.  This is further proof that, although only on a very low level, our minds are patterned after the mind of God: Genesis 3:22.  Verse 19 closes with “and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles”.  As our Lord GOD views salvation there are only two types of people in the world: saved and lost.  These are the only types of man significant to God.  His are the true Jews, Romans 2:25-29, and those lost to Him are the Gentiles, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5.  In Romans 2:27 the LORD is telling us we, almost all of us, are born lost.  Notice as the verse reads “And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfill the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?” Circumcision was a sign, Genesis 17:9-11, and if you are lost then your uncircumcision will simply fulfill the law.  So put simply this is saying just as every man is born uncircumcised so is every man born lost and we will die lost unless the LORD saves us.

Isaiah 66:20

In verse 20 the LORD says His called and chosen shall bring “all” of their brethren, the elect, unto Him.  He says “… upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my Holy Mountain Jerusalem”.  In this portion of the sentence the LORD is saying His called and chosen will bring all of His elect, through His word, from every aspect of life unto Him.  He closes the verse with “as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD”.  The children of Israel are the called and chosen of God and the offering He allows us to bring are His elect.  The vessel in which we bring our offering is clean because we don’t know who the elect are.  If we knew who they were the vessel would become soiled with our pride, as the called and chosen are the vessels.  If, by the will of God, He would allow us to soil the vessel He would not use us anymore.  Reading the word of God with this new understanding it has become apparent that the LORD is using His called and chosen exclusively to bring all of His elect unto Him; Isaiah 42:6-7, 60:12 and 61:1 all take on a new significance when viewed in the light.

In Isaiah 1:4-20 the LORD speaks to the people of the world, all those who are not elect of Him.  These are all those who, if they would take heed, He will have mercy upon them in their end as He does in their lives.  However if they will not heed His word or humble themselves unto His will, although He will have mercy on them in their lives, in their end they will not have His covering: Zephaniah 2:3 and Isaiah 30:1.

Isaiah 66:21-22

Our Lord GOD will assign unto all of His the functions He will and He assures us and all those we bring unto Him eternal life.

Isaiah 66:23-24

All the called and chosen of God will worship the LORD always and we shall take great joy in it.  It also seems we will be able to see those who perish in the end for all eternity even though their end has come and gone.

Isaiah 65

A Review of Isaiah 65
by Keith E Gardner
Always using the King James Bible

Isaiah 65:1

In verse 1 our Lord GOD is speaking of His called and chosen.  We can be the elect of God but, we will run with the world and consequently know the judgment of the world until our Lord GOD will have mercy on us: Isaiah 51:17-22.  However once the elect of God have been called and chosen they will begin to do the work of taking forth the gospel of the LORD.  Then, in the life to come, we will truly see the power of the gospel of our Lord GOD: Isaiah 49:20-23.

Isaiah 65:2-7

In verses 2 through 7 the LORD is clearly speaking of the lost.  We see in verse 2 how the LORD has, and continues even till today, attempted to appeal to the lost who only desire their own way: Jeremiah 18:12.

In verse 3 the LORD is speaking of the practice of false worship, which in truth is the worship of Satan.  Any worship other than the worship of God as He describes in His word is the worship of Satan and the Most High God will not accept nor excuse it: Leviticus 10:1-2.  There are only two powers in this life, the LORD and Satan, and every man worships one or the other: Revelation 17:12-14.  So everywhere we look today we see the fulfillment of Luke 16:13; the vast majority of mankind seeking their own way, the way of the lost, while the LORD is the only way.

In verses 4 and 5 we are reading of the practices of mankind.  The significant thing to note is all those things spoken of in verse 4 are things the LORD has told mankind, at that time, not to do.  Therefore we can draw a parallel between then and now as mankind today live life completely in discord with God.  In verse 5 we see the same people professing their holiness and the LORD declaring His consequent disgust.

In verses 6 and 7 we see the anger of the LORD as He tells us in verse 6 He will repay evil with evil.  In verse 7 we can see our Lord GOD is reiterating the sentiments of repayment.  Just in these 6 verses we see the cry of the LORD to a people who refuse to hear Him.  He discusses the activity of these people who have decided to go their own way.  Then we see the LORD as His patience comes to an end.  He speaks of an end for these people fitting for their works: Zephaniah 1-3.

Isaiah 65:8

For the sake of the servants of the LORD He will not destroy all mankind.  The LORD will save the remnant He has elected from before the foundation of the world that He will not make a full end of all mankind: Isaiah 11:10-12.

Isaiah 65:9

In verse 9 the LORD says “And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob”.  The seed the LORD will bring out of Jacob are His elect as Jacob here represents all of His called and chosen: Isaiah 29:22-23.  In the remainder of this verse we see the LORD speaking explicitly about His chosen as they will inherit His Mountains.  As our Lord GOD refers to mountains we can search the Bible and we will find mountains, when used this way, are referring to heaven and the new earth: Nahum 1:15.  Nahum 1:15 is written as it is to show the called and chosen of God are at this time in heaven.  We know this because the LORD closes this verse speaking of the lost as He says “he is utterly cut off”.  We also know the lost are utterly cut off when the LORD destroys this world in the end; consequently this verse has got to be referring to heaven as mountains as this earth will be no more.

Isaiah 65:10

In verse 10 the LORD is telling His, as only His will see it this way, He will turn the barren state of our lives into bliss.  Yes, although many people don’t realize it our lives are barren without the LORD.  Read of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel and the New Testament prophets as well and look closely at their lives.  You will see that except for the work of the LORD they are all empty.  This is also true of all those who are not called and chosen of God as their lives are completely empty; they are only littered with nonsense, triviality and many pursuits having no eternal value.   We see in this verse the LORD is characterizing our lives as Sharon which is almost a waste land in Biblical times.  The LORD is saying He will make Sharon a “…fold of flocks”.  This is to say He will take us from our desolate existence here on this earth and bring us to His Holy Heaven where our eternal lives will be glorious.  In the second portion of this verse the LORD is reiterating the point as Achor in Hebrew means trouble, but the LORD will make it a place for herds, all of His called and chosen, to lie down in. Clearly He is drawing a parallel between our lives here on earth and the desolate state of Sharon even the trouble which occurred in Achor; then He proceeds to give us an abbreviated view of our lives in heaven.

Isaiah 65:11

“But ye are they that forsake the LORD” is our Lord GOD speaking of those who are not called and chosen of Him.  These are all those who desire and seek only their own way with no regard for the commands of the LORD.  These people make up the vast majority of the world as noted in Jeremiah 44:15-17 where we see Jeremiah stand alone, for the LORD, against “a great multitude” who seek only their own way.  Their only motivation is the satiation of their lusts; therefore they are literally worse than the brute beasts that roam the woods and the forests seeking only their next meal.  This is the natural state of all men, both elect and lost, since Adam and Eve blatantly forsook the LORD in the Garden of Eden.  So we see this verse is speaking all of mankind, including the elect, until the LORD will take His from amongst the mass: Isaiah 54:6-8.   Even still they are only a remnant: Romans 9:24-29.  The vast majority are those who forget His Holy Mountain as they prepare the table, their worship offerings, for that troop.  The word troop in this verse is a substitution for the word gad which was a Canaanite god so, you should begin to see the LORD is speaking of all those who worship their own gods rather than Him: the one true God.  In the last part of the verse the drink offering is also furnished as an offering unto the false gods by the lost; that is all men even the elect before salvation.

Isaiah 65:12

In verse 12 we see the consequences of verse 11 as the LORD speaks of the lost.  The LORD will take His elect from amongst the lost and all who remain are those to whom He speaks.  In the first clause of this verse the LORD has vowed to slaughter those who ran in their own way.  In the second clause He defines those who ran in their own way.  They are all those who did not hear when the LORD spoke: remember Jeremiah 44:15-17? The LORD will allow one to go his own way and seek his own desires but, the LORD is telling us here what awaits them in their end.  They will not simply lie down and go to sleep forevermore as they all have a debt to pay, but they will pay the piper for the tune to which they danced, 1 Kings 21:20-24, for they “chose that wherein I delighted not”.

Isaiah 65:13

In verse 13 the LORD is telling us His will toward the people to the world.  All those who are not elect, to be called and chosen of Him, will suffer the things spoken of in verse 13.  Even still there are those who are not elect of God so they will never be called and chosen but, they will not suffer these things.  They are all those who will recognize the truth of the Bible and humble themselves, as best they can, before the truth that He will have mercy on them.  So the LORD tells us in His word that among those lost to Him He will have mercy on those who will humble themselves unto Him and only cursing unto those who will go their own way: Jeremiah 42:11-16.

Isaiah 65:14

In verse 14 we see the LORD is telling the world not of things to come, but of the things which are.  As we look at the lives of many we see the poor and the affluent, the healthy and the sick, the young and the old whose lives exemplify this principle.  We find those in all the groupings there are who are content with what God has provided and a majority who complain constantly.  This is the fulfillment of verse 14 as today we see people from every strata of life who “howl for vexation of spirit”.

Isaiah 65:15

In verse 15 we are seeing the intents of the LORD toward those who desire their own way.  “And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen” is the LORD speaking unto all those who do not accept their God given role.  All mankind has been created by God to be servants unto our Lord GOD.  However, immediately after the sin of Adam and Eve, their disobedience, mankind developed a “sense of self”.  The oneness with God was gone and mankind’s focus instantly changed from the LORD to the nature of this world: Genesis 3:6-7.  Although mankind acquired wisdom from ingesting the forbidden fruit there was a seed of sin in mankind all along.  It was foreseen by God that Satan would germinate this seed of sin within mankind and this would lead to Satan being cast out of heaven and the unfolding of the history of the world.  As the LORD knows the end from the very beginning of all things, Isaiah 46:9-10, we who believe know it is all the plan of God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  For the LORD is the Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent one and there is nothing to occur that He has not foreseen.

Isaiah 65:16

“That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth”.  This is to say as we seek the true knowledge of God He will bless us with an understanding of Him.  I say an understanding rather than understanding because God is infinite and no man can comprehend the infinite God.  He gives us, all who are called and chosen of Him, insight into particular aspects of Him and just as the Bible is 66 books of Him it is 66, all slightly different, aspects of His nature.  Therefore we must read the entire Bible, with the blessing of God, to even begin to understand God.  Our Lord GOD is the Alpha and the Omega therefore if we seek Him first all other blessings will follow.  If you read of the called and chosen of God in His Bible you’ll find whether wealthy or poor once they came to know the God of truth they were usually content and at peace within themselves.  There is one who arguably may be an exception and that one is Jonah.

“And he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth” is referring only to the called and chosen of God.  We know this because in the preceding verse the lost have all been destroyed; therefore the earth spoken of must be the new earth populated only by the called and chosen of God.  We also know that on this present earth we must not swear, at all: Matthew 5:33-37.  The final clause of this verse solidifies our findings as the LORD says “Because the former troubles are forgotten”.  These “former troubles” are the trials and tribulations of this life and they are forgotten because the called and chosen of God are now with the LORD and the events of this life are hidden, as the Christ paid our sin debt, from the LORD.

Isaiah 65:17-18

In verses 17 and 18 the LORD is speaking of the new heaven and earth.  He tells us the New Jerusalem and her people will be exactly as He desires.  The seed of sin that existed in Adam and Eve will not be in the people of the New Jerusalem; therefore we can not sin.

Isaiah 65:19-20

Our Lord GOD will dwell with us in the New Jerusalem and all sadness, tears and weeping shall be no more.  There will be only joy as we will live for an eternity, a hundred years; but the sinner is cursed for eternity: dead in soul and body

Isaiah 65:21-23

Verse 21 the LORD is speaking of our work in this life to bring souls unto Him.  He is telling us that we will reap the fruits of our labors.

In verse 22 the LORD is telling us all, our labors in this life are not in vain as there will be no one to take that which He has empowered us to earn.  He continues to tell us we will eternally enjoy the work of our hands.

In verse 23 the LORD says our labors on this earth are not in vain and those we bring to Him shall know no trouble in the life to come.  The LORD has blessed all of His from the first unto the last as each person comes to the LORD by the one to take them His truth.  Therefore we are all the offspring of that one who bought us the truth.

Isaiah 65:24-25

In verse 24 we read of the attentive nature the LORD will have for His and in verse 25 the near incomprehensibility of the new life in the Christ.

Isaiah 64

A Review of Isaiah 64
by Keith E Gardner
Always using the King James Bible

Isaiah 64:1-2

In verses 1 and 2 the LORD is leading Isaiah to tell all mankind of His supreme power.  In verse 2 we see this especially as Isaiah draws an analogy between the melting fire that causes the waters to boil and the LORD coming down.  The end result of which is “… to make thy name known to thine adversaries, That the nations may tremble at thy presence”.

Isaiah 64:3-4

The LORD opens the doorway to the end in verses 1 and 2 and then He continues to speak of the end through verses 3 and 4.  “When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for” is clearly speaking of the end and the surprise by which it will take the majority of the world.  Our Lord GOD continues in verse 4 with “…what He hath prepared for him that waiteth for Him”.  This is the LORD telling His called and chosen, “him that waiteth for Him”, they will be going to heaven on that day.

Isaiah 64:5

In the first clause of verse 5 our Lord GOD is speaking of His called and chosen as it is His called and chosen who remember Him in His ways.  But as all men do the called and chosen of God sin.  We sin in our actions and in our thoughts therefore our LORD is upset with us.  However “in those is continuance” means the LORD has granted us eternal life and so, “…we shall be saved”.

Isaiah 64:6-8

In verse 6 we see the LORD has blessed Isaiah with the mind of God as He has given Isaiah His view of mankind.  In spite of all any man may attempt to do right “… all our righteousness are as filthy rags”.  This should make every man ask the question, then how can I be saved?  In verse 7 we see the LORD as He tells us of the plight of every man.  In verse 8 the LORD is explicitly speaking as He tells us all that we are the work of His hands: Romans 9:21-23.

Isaiah 64:9

In verse 9 we see Isaiah beseeching the LORD with the primary desire of all the children of God; “Be not roth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity forever”.

Isaiah 64:10-11

The holy cities, Zion and Jerusalem, spoken of in verse 10 represent the churches where Satan now sits: Revelation 2:12-13.  In verse 11 we should see our holy and beautiful house which is burnt with fire is the church.  It is burnt with fire because Satan, whose ultimate end is fire, has assumed dominion there.  To those called and chosen of God this represents the laying waste of all our pleasant things as church was meant to be our place of worship.

Isaiah 64:12

“Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things?” Isaiah asks.  Isaiah’s reference to “these things” are the actions of the lost; even the elect.  The most trying to the LORD is the blatant worship of Satan done by all those who attend the churches today.  The verse and chapter close with “…wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?” The answer to the question is a loud and clear yes.  Our Lord GOD attempts to speak to mankind through His word and His servants evidenced by all the prophets of the Bible.  If they will not hear His word delivered by His servants they will not hear Him, Luke 16:24-31; therefore the vast majority of the world is doomed as only those elect from before the foundation of the world will hear and obey.

The LORD saved all the souls He would save before the foundation of the world.  These were all those who are to be called and chosen.  At the cross the LORD then saved the bodies of all mankind: 1 John 2:1-2.  This was one of the consequences of our Lord GOD taking dominion from Satan at the cross and damming him to destruction.  We must realize the LORD saved the souls of His children from before the foundation of the world, Ephesians 1:4-5; therefore, after we are called and chosen our souls are at war with our bodies as our bodies are lost until Judgment Day.  In the case of the lost there is no war as their souls and their bodies are in complete agreement.  Therefore at death the body of one saved will die and the LORD will take that soul.  At the end of time the LORD will raise the new body of His called and chosen to house the soul He has already saved; for that body was saved at the cross.  In the case of the lost the LORD saved their bodies at the cross as well but, because He did not save their souls before the foundation of the world their bodies can not rise as their souls are no more.  Therefore that person is dead is soul and body; the soul died first.  So you should begin to see more clearly why the LORD had to die at the cross; it was a bit more than a mere demonstration.  Our Lord GOD gives us hints of this throughout the Bible as He constantly refers to a man as soul and body.  He gives us another hint in Matthew 27:51-53 as He raises the bodies of some of His to signify what actually happened at the cross.  This makes clear the basis for Satan’s argument in Jude 9 as Moses died before the cross.  Also notice the LORD never says body and soul.  This is because the soul is saved or lost first as it is comprehended by God, before the foundation of the world.  Then at the cross salvation is completed and neither the soul nor the body can survive without the other unless the soul is with the LORD.

Isaiah 63

A Review of Isaiah 63
by Keith E Gardner
Always using the King James Bible

Isaiah 63:1-2

“Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah?” This is clearly the LORD and all His garments will be covered with the blood of the lost.  We know Bozrah was the chief city of Edom and Edom was founded by Esau; a man hated by the LORD: Malachi 1:2-4.  Just as Esau was hated by God he is used here to represent all those of the world who are not elect of God.  If you read Malachi 1:4 you can see the attitude of the lost is one of we will; they give no regard to the LORD.  If you continue to read the second clause of the verse you will see the sentiments of the LORD regarding their attitude of self-sufficiency.  This is the problem with all of mankind.  We are bursting with pride and dignity beyond dignity which leads to the attitude of self-sufficiency and that is the attitude the LORD can not stand; for the LORD is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent all things are in His hands: Isaiah 47:8-11.

In verse 2 we read “Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like Him that treadeth in the winefat”.  The LORD speaks of His red garments because they are red with the blood of those who, like Esau, are not saved.  These are all those who are not elect of God as they will never be called and chosen.  Hence you have the constitution of the world: saved and lost; any other differences amongst mankind are eternally irrelevant.

Isaiah 63:3-4

In verses 3 and 4 we know the LORD is speaking as only God Himself could as He says “I have trodden the winepress alone”.  Through all of verse 3 the LORD is speaking of His anger toward mankind: elect and lost.  However, when we read more of the Bible we see more clearly how the anger of the LORD will manifest itself; in the lives of the elect, Isaiah 54:7-8, and in the lives of the lost, Isaiah 1:28-31.

In verse 4 we see the duality of the LORD.  Just as He died on the cross as the savior He is coming once more; this time with vengeance in His heart.  To all His chosen He will be the redeemer while to those lost He will be the avenger.  “For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemer is come”.  This verse reads as if the LORD is coming to redeem Himself but, I believe this is our Lord GOD as He views His called and chosen as Himself, in a sense, as He is coming to redeem us.

Isaiah 63:5

As you read this verse you should recognize the cause of the great anger the LORD has toward all mankind.  “And I looked, and there was none to help” is the LORD stating all men throughout all time have been and are lost.  The LORD continues with “and I wondered that there was none to uphold”.  This is our Lord GOD reiterating the sentiments of Romans 3:10.  Consequent to the state of mankind throughout all time the LORD was forced to suffer payment for the sins of every man, both before the foundation of the world and once more at the cross: it must be understood like this.

The LORD saved all the souls He would save before the foundation of the world: Ephesians 1:4-5.  These are all those who are, were and are to be called and chosen.  At the cross the LORD then saved the bodies of all mankind: 1 John 2:1-2.  Proof of this is the rising of some who were dead, but called and chosen of God, at the cross: Matthew 27:51-53.  The LORD is showing us in Matthew 27:51-53 a major part of what was done at the cross with the rising of some saints.  Their souls were already saved therefore they are saints and at the death of the Christ their bodies rose.  No mans’ body was saved before the cross.  Although the LORD took Enoch, Moses and Elijah in soul and body before the cross this was done in the might of the LORD knowing what was to come.  That is why Satan’s accusation against the LORD for this was ignored: Jude 1:9.  Then at the cross Satan was thrown out of heaven, Luke 10:18, which signified the Christ knowing that He would take dominion over all mankind.  Therefore we should see that it was consequent to the cross that the LORD saved our bodies.  We must realize that because the LORD saved His elect before the foundation of the world once called and chosen our souls are at war with our bodies.  Much of what we think, we know, we should not and most certainly we know we must not carry out these thoughts.  For our souls are saved before the foundation of the world and our bodies at the cross.  Just as the cross marked the end of His stay on earth so will the end of time for those called and chosen of God.  And just as the saints rose after the death of the Christ, so will the bodies of the called and chosen be raised in the end.  The rising of some saints was only a picture of what is to be.  In the case of the unsaved there is no disagreement between the soul and body.  Since their soul and body are in total agreement, they will pursue the desires of this world in one accord.  Therefore at death when the body of one saved dies our Lord GOD will accept that soul into His holy heaven.  At the end of time the LORD will raise that body, which He saved at the cross, to house the soul that is presently with Him.  In the case of the lost the LORD saved the body at the cross but, because He did not save that soul before the foundation of the world that body will die; and the soul, speaking eternally, is already dead.  A man is soul and body and neither can exist without the other.  Since Adam and Eve’s sin in the Garden of Eden every man’s body ages and dies therefore, the LORD must keep the soul or it too will die.  If a man is saved the LORD keeps the soul until resurrection, if a man is not saved the LORD will not accept his unclean soul and that man will die both in soul and body the instant his body dies.

Isaiah 63:6

In verse 6 we see the fury of the LORD is manifesting.  “And I will tread down the people in mine anger” is the will of the LORD toward all who do not heed His law.  The people mentioned here are both the elect and the lost of this world.  The LORD will make His elect drink of His fury along with the lost.  However, once He saves us we will drink no more: Isaiah 51:17-23.  The LORD continues with “and I will bring down their strength to the earth”.  This is our Lord GOD as He declares death in soul and body unto all those He has not saved.  We know this is the proper interpretation because the LORD is the only true and enduring strength, Revelation 12:10, therefore their strength in this verse represents the beliefs of the lost and the LORD will bring their strength down to the earth in the destruction of them all: Revelation 17:12-14.  There has always been confusion regarding the meaning of Revelation 17:12, but it can be explained this way: in the first clause of Revelation 17:12 we see the ten kings have received no kingdom as yet.  The number ten and multiples thereof always represent completeness, therefore these kings are all the lost.  They are those who are, have been and will be doing as they desire with their lives; henceforth the nomenclature kings.  In the second clause we see they, when they are born, will receive power with the beast one hour which means a short while; their lifetimes represent that short while.  We must realize power here is not necessarily wealth, fame or fortune.  Although the LORD will grant some of them these things the true meaning of power here is the right to believe and live, whether right or wrong, as they will.

Isaiah 63:7-9

In verse 7 the LORD tells us of His loving kindness toward Israel; in this instance Israel is a representation of the entire world.  All mankind is lost from birth, Psalm 58:3; but because we are all the creations of a perfect God, Mark 10:6, we all enjoy His nearly boundless mercies.

In verse 8 we read of the desired view of the LORD as He says “Surely they are my people, children that will not lie”.  So we read in verse 9 of His care for them and if we read the Bible we can clearly see examples of blessing, punishment and then His blessing.  The cycle of blessing, punishment and blessing is repeated constantly in the Bible as you see with the very birth of Israel and their forty years in the wilderness.  In spite of constant audio and visual signs the LORD found them plagued with unbelief.  This is to say Israel, or mankind, has been rebellious and stiff-necked even from Adam and Eve.

Isaiah 63:10-14

In verse 10 we see Israel has once again forced the hand of the LORD as the LORD says “…He was turned to be their enemy, and He fought against them”.  However verses 11-14 speak of Israel as they would humble themselves before the LORD and cry unto Him for mercy.  In His great goodness the LORD does remember those days of old, Jeremiah 2:2, and that is all that sustains us.  For today it is evident, as it has been growing more so throughout all time, the LORD is preparing the world for the end.  Pay close attention to the conditions under which we all live; GMO’s in our foods and poison in the air causing a rise in atmospheric temperatures which in turn is causing the melting of the polar icecaps further enhancing the temperature rise; we even have the shrinking of the consumable water supply and these represent just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.  These bad conditions are growing worse with every year and in time it will reach the point of noticeably worsening every week: then the end will come.

Isaiah 63:15-16

Although this is Isaiah speaking in verse 15 he speaks for all the called and chosen of God.  He speaks as all holy men of old spoke; that is as God the Holy Spirit moved them: 2 Peter 1:21.

In verse 16 we see the plight of all the called and chosen of the LORD.  None of the called and chosen of God knows the God given status of another therefore, “Abraham be ignorant of us”.  Also because we will not run with the world Israel, the lost of this world, “acknowledge us not” however we who are the called and chosen of God acknowledge, praise, honor and obey the will of our all mighty redeemer.

Isaiah 63:17

In verse 17 we see the LORD speaking through Isaiah as He tells us that He is in control of all things.  He lets us know that He allows us to err from His ways and it is His doing that a man’s heart will grow hard toward the LORD: Exodus 7:3-5“Return for thy servants’ sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.”  The tribes of the LORD are all His called and chosen.  We are those whom He will save.

Isaiah 63:18

The possession of “the people of thy holiness” is the true knowledge of God the Father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit: the three who are one.  The sanctuary of the LORD was the church, but it has been over run by Satan: Revelation 2:12-13.

Isaiah 63:19

Verse 19 opens with “We are thine” which is clearly the voice of the chosen of the LORD.  The verse continues with “thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name”.  These are without any doubt the lost: Matthew 7: 22-23.

A Review of Isa…

Isaiah 62

A Review of Isaiah 62
by Keith E Gardner
Always using the King James Bible

Isaiah 62:1

In this verse the LORD is telling us “for Zion’s sake” and “for Jerusalem’s sake” He will not rest.  Zion and Jerusalem, in this verse, represent all those called and chosen God.  The LORD says “…I will not rest, until the righteousness go forth as brightness and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth”.  This is to say the LORD will not rest until He has made all of His elect His called and chosen.  He is bringing His elect to Himself through those who are already called and chosen.  By the end of time if there are any of His elect who were not gathered by His called and chosen He will bring them Himself just as He bought the very first.

If we look at Genesis 4:1-12 we will see Cain slew his brother Abel who was not an enemy unto him.  Therefore this was an act of murder not killing.  For killing in defense of ones self is acceptable to the LORD as David was a man after God’s own heart, Acts 13:21-22, and David was a killer: 1 Samuel 18:6-7.  However Cain murdered his brother Abel and Abel called out to God from the ground: Genesis 4:10.  This is merely a metaphor used by the LORD telling us that just as the LORD accepted Abel’s offering Abel was one of His called and chosen.  As far as we can tell with any certainty he was the first man to be called and chosen of God.  He was brought to the LORD by God as there were none called and chosen before him.  So I am forced to ponder, could it be possible that just as Abel was the first man saved God will bring, if any, the last to be saved Himself on Judgment Day: Joel 3:19-21?

Isaiah 62:2

“And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness” is the LORD saying the unsaved of the world will see the righteousness of His called and chosen.  They undoubtedly will not recognize what they see in you as righteousness for the LORD has blinded the eyes of all those who desire their own way: Matthew 15:8-14; however, they will clearly see the difference in their beliefs and ours.  The LORD continues with “and all kings thy glory”.  This is the glory the LORD will give unto all of His as we enter His eternal heaven.  The kings who will see our glory are the called and chosen who are already in heaven; see “A Review of Isaiah 61” in Isaiah 61:3.  The kings who will see our glory are the called and chosen who are already in heaven as we are entering heaven to join their ranks.  The verse closes with “and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name”.  As we know from verses like Revelation 2:17 the LORD will give unto each of His a new name and we will go forth doing His will throughout eternity.

Isaiah 62:3-5

In verse 3 we see the LORD sees each of us worthy to serve Him.  In verse 4 the LORD says “Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken”.  This is because all mankind, both saved and lost, are forsaken by the LORD until He calls and chooses His elect: Isaiah 54:7-8. The rest of mankind is then faced with a very straight forward choice.  They can humble themselves before God and pray for His forgiveness that, if it’s done in truth, He will have mercy on them in their end as He does in their lives: Romans 9:15-16.  Or, they can go their own way believing whatever they will which will leave them with no covering in their end and no man should want to stand before our omnipotent God without a covering: Isaiah 28:17-22.

In the second clause of this verse the LORD says “neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate”.  This is because we will be in heaven where the truth will be the complete reverse of the desolation we have here on earth.  Heaven will be populated only by beings who worship the one true God.  Therefore the desolation the LORD speaks of here on earth will not exist in heaven; on earth the true believers are only a remnant: Isaiah 1:4-9.  We will all be married to heaven, Beulah, and the LORD will delight in us all.

In verse 5 we see the called and chosen of God being credited with all those whom we took God’s truth.  The joyous matrimony continues as we all come together and the LORD rejoices over us all.

Isaiah 62:6-7

In verse 6 the LORD is speaking of life on earth.  The watchmen He has set upon the walls are His called and chosen and we are always to publish His gospel.  In verse 7 the LORD is telling all of His that it has been given unto us to proclaim His gospel until He comes.  When He comes He will make the Jerusalem of heaven to be praised in the earth but, it will only be praised by His called and chosen: Revelation 11:16-18.

Isaiah 62:8

In verse 8 the LORD is saying He will no longer allow the lost to “play saved”.  He says “…Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies”.  In these last days He has made the truth of His word comprehensible to all who seek it.  All who desire to know His truth can seek it out for it is being proclaimed openly.  The LORD will no longer allow the lost or the sons of the lost to pretend ignorance of His truth; the truth can be known.  We know this is the proper interpretation because “thy corn” is a representation of the true gospel or, more poignantly put, salvation: Lamentations 2:11-12.  The LORD has run out of patients as He is speaking here of Judgment Day.

Isaiah 62:9

In verse 9 the LORD is telling us those who work to gather the harvest will be those who will drink of the wine.  This wine will be enjoyed “in the courts of my holiness” or in heaven by those called and chosen of God.

Isaiah 62:10

In verse 10 we see the LORD as He is sending His called and chosen forth unto this world to proclaim His gospel.  We know this because to lift up a standard is to broadcast or to proclaim that standard, Jeremiah 11:6, and the standard is the word of God.

Isaiah 62:11

“Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world” is the LORD speaking to the entire world through His called and chosen.  “Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh”.  The LORD here is speaking to His elect, “the daughter of Zion”, as He proclaims they will all be saved.  The LORD continues as He says “behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him”.  The reward of the LORD is salvation which He brings with Him as He enters the hearts of His elect.  His work is before Him as He must change the hearts of every one of us before He will grant us the blessing of salvation.

Isaiah 62:12

In verse 12 the LORD continues with “And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD”.  These are all of us who were the elect of God but, now the LORD has made us His called and chosen.  We are the “them” in this clause while “they” are the heavenly hosts.  The final clause says “…thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken”.  I believe we will be called sought out because the LORD watched over each of us until the time was right.  At that time He bought us to Himself hence, we were each sought out by the LORD.

Isaiah 61

A Review of Isaiah 61
by Keith E Gardner
Always using the King James Bible

Isaiah 61:1

In verse 1 we see the mandate given unto all those called and chosen of God.  It is the expression of the true sentiments of all the called and chosen of God and this it is our one motivating desire to teach the truth to all.  All men are meek and brokenhearted even though many may not want to acknowledge it or maybe they don’t even realize it but, the LORD can humble us all.  All of us are captives of sin and we are all, from birth, in the prison house of Satan as we are all wicked, Psalm 58:3, unless and until the LORD saves us: Isaiah 42:6-9.

Isaiah 61:2

In verse 2 the LORD continues to describe the task He has given unto His.  “To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn.” This is the function of all the called and chosen of God.  We are to proclaim the acceptable year and the day of vengeance of our Lord GOD; both are one in the same.  We must realize that the LORD and all heaven exist outside of time.  Therefore unless the LORD is referring to us, time is irrelevant.  Consequently a day, a week, a month or years are all the same to God and in this verse He is referring to Himself: “the acceptable year of the LORD”.  So we can know “the acceptable year” and “the day of vengeance” are the same day as we now know the last is one day.  The LORD closes the verse with “to comfort all that mourn”.  We know, in this instance, the LORD is only concerned with His, so the all in this clause refers only to His called and chosen.  The called and chosen of God will mourn as we will see loved ones perish, many horribly, and we will feel sorrow for the world in general. However our Lord GOD says in Revelation 21:4 that He will wipe all tears from our eyes then we will begin our heavenly duties.

Isaiah 61:3

In verse 3 the LORD is telling us what will occur in heaven after the end of this world.  As Zion is heaven and in heaven the LORD will give unto His called and chosen “… beauty for ashes …” as the ashes refer to the world on which we once lived.  The clause continues to divulge the blessings of our Lord GOD unto His called and chosen.  In the final clause of the verse we see our purpose in heaven.  We see that all heaven will know us as the “trees of righteousness” and “the planting of the LORD, that He might be glorified”.  In Revelation 19:1-4 we see this prophesy fulfilled as in verse 1 the called and chosen of God praise the LORD with all heaven.  In verse 2 the called and chosen of God affirm the righteous judgment of the church, “the great whore”, for the corruption of the earth with her fornication: lies.  In verses 3 and 4 we will continue to praise the LORD as we are represented in verse 4 as the four and twenty elders; two represents the called and chosen of God and twelve represents fullness together representing all the called and chosen of God: 2 x 12 = 24.  We will praise God along with the heavenly hosts represented here as “the four beasts”.

Isaiah 61:4

“And they shall build the old wastes they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.” These are among the duties of the called and chosen of God.  We are to build the old waste places which are the elect of God who do not know the LORD.  We are to take them His word that He will add them to the number of His called and chosen: Isaiah 49:1-9.  In Isaiah 49:5 we hear Isaiah saying it has been given unto him “to bring Jacob again to Him”.  Isaiah represents all the called and chosen of God and it has been given unto us “to bring Jacob”, the elect of God, back to the LORD.  I say back because before the foundation of the world we were already the possessions of the LORD: Ephesians 1:3-4.  In Isaiah 49:5 we also see Isaiah saying “Though Israel be not gathered” this is because Israel represents all the people of the world and Jacob represents the elect of God.  Please remember the LORD sees only two types of people in this world: saved and lost.  In Isaiah 49:5-6 the saved and lost are represented as Jacob and Israel respectively.  In Isaiah 49:7 the LORD is speaking of His called and chosen as He says “to him whom man despiseth”.  He is telling us although we are despised of men He shall choose us.  In Isaiah 49:8 the LORD is sending us forth to establish His covenant with the people.  This means we are being sent forth to take the truth of His law to the people.  In doing so all the called and chosen of God will come to the LORD hence, we will “cause to inherit the desolate heritages”; we will inherit the elect of God as they become called and chosen through us: Isaiah 49:20-23.  As the elect become called and chosen we see Isaiah 49:9 materialize.

Isaiah 61:5

In verse 5 we see “And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks”.  The strangers here are the parents and guardians of the elect to whom the called and chosen will take the word.  The parents and guardians are not saved themselves but, they will raise and care for the elect of God.  Once the called and chosen of God have taken His word to these, “the sons of the alien”, they will then also be the called and chosen of God.  They then will become the plowmen and the vinedressers, as are all the called and chosen, taking the truth of the LORD to this world.  As they bring more of the elect of God unto Him it edifies both them and the entire line God has blessed to bringing them the truth.

Isaiah 61:6

Verse 6 opens with “But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD”.  This clause is referring to all the called and chosen of God as it has been given unto us to minister unto the LORD: Ezekiel 44:15-16.  We know Ezekiel 44:15-16 is applicable here because in verse 15 the LORD says “… that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me”.  All those who “kept the charge” were the called and chosen of God as every man will run in his own way unless he is called and chosen of the LORD.  The verse continues with “men shall call you the minister of our God”.  Reading the Bible one knows this will never happen on this sin-cursed earth.  We must also notice the plural noun men is italicized which means it was not in the original manuscript.  Therefore we must read this clause omitting men.  When you do you will realize the clause is not speaking of men at all, but of the hosts of heaven.  In heaven all the called and chosen of God will minister unto the LORD; that, I believe, is our primary reason for being.  We shall be called the ministers of God by all the heavenly hosts.  The final clause in the verse says “ye shall eat the riches of the gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves”.  This verse is saying the called and chosen of God will take His gospel to the world gathering all of His elect unto Him.  Those gathered are the riches of the Gentiles, as they are their earthly children and the LORD sees our children as our wealth: Job 1:13-19.  The LORD will then bring them back to the one who took them the word consequently we will then “eat the riches of the Gentiles”.  So they will glory in the LORD for they are called and chosen and we, those who took them the word of the LORD, will be forever thankful unto the Godhead.

Isaiah 61:7

“For your shame ye shall have double.” In this first clause of verse 7 the LORD speaks of our shame.  This is the shame all those called and chosen of God know once we are saved and we look back on our lives as one who was elect of God but not yet saved.  We are ashamed of our thoughts and our actions as they were just like those of the lost.  The second verse says “and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion”; this is to say the called and chosen of God will take His word to the world.  All of those elect of God who hear the word of the LORD will come unto Him.  These are all those who were confused but, when they hear the word, the LORD will open their eyes and they will rejoice.  The LORD explains this in a parable in John 4:35-38 where His called and chosen are the sowers and His elect are the reapers.  In the third verse the LORD says “therefore in their land they shall possess the double”.  In their land is referring to this world as only the called and chosen of God will possess the double.  The double refers to the rereward the LORD speaks of in Isaiah 58:8; as the unwarranted reward is salvation and the rereward is our blessing as we follow the mandate of the LORD to take the gospel to the world.  Through these efforts we will grow just as the LORD explains in John 4:35-38.  The verse closes with “everlasting joy shall be unto them” for as much as they have done all the LORD required of them, and the called and chosen of God must do His will as you read in the book of Jonah, they will have everlasting joy.

Isaiah 61:8

“For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offerings.” The LORD of heaven is the only true God, Deuteronomy 32:35-40.  He loves righteousness and will bring judgment unto all.  For those who are eternally His He has already paid their sin debt: Deuteronomy 32:36.  As He is the creator of all, Isaiah 64:8, we are all His even those whom He has not saved and they, regardless to how good a life He has given them, will not acknowledge Him.  Unto them He has written the words of Deuteronomy 32:37-39.  In the second half of this clause the LORD is speaking of the church congregations as they rob Him of their servitude and once a week offer a false burnt offering: a tithe.  Reading Malachi 3:7-10 we see in verse 8 the LORD poses the question “Will a man rob God?” This is because tithes and offerings are not what the LORD seeks.  These things are not to benefit the LORD they were originally collected to maintain the church building and the preacher, however today the focus has changed.  In Romans 12:1 we see exactly what we owe the LORD; therefore you should at least begin to realize that your Sunday tithe isn’t even a funny joke and although the LORD is not laughing with you He may just be laughing at you.  In our lives today we can at least attempt to meet the requirement of Romans 12:1: saved or lost.  We are all the creations of God and the same mandate has been given unto us all: Mark 6:7-12.  In the final clause of this verse the LORD says He “… will direct their work in truth”.  This is the will of God, that all whom He has called and chosen will take His gospel unto the world.  He will guide us in our comprehension of His word that we will take truth unto this world.  In the final half of this clause the LORD says “and I will make an everlasting covenant with them”.  This is the guarantee of salvation the LORD has given unto all of His called and chosen.  The covenant is the agreement between our God and His called and chosen: Isaiah 55:3-5.

Isaiah 61:9

In verse 9 we read “And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people”.  This clause is speaking of the called and chosen of God as we are all the seed of those God uses to bring us the truth.  The Gentiles, the lost, will know us as we will standout from amongst the mass more and forevermore; we will grow in unmistakable grace.  In the closing clause of the verse we see “all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed that the LORD has blessed”.  This clause is undoubtedly fulfilled in heaven as the lost will never acknowledge the called and chosen of God.  Furthermore take note as our Lord GOD does not say the Gentiles, all those who are not called and chosen, will acknowledge them.  He says “all that see them” and this is a perfectly placed clue telling us this will occur in heaven.  On earth not even the called and chosen of God can be certain of on another’s calling: Matthew 26:20-25.

Isaiah 61:10

In the first clause of verse 10 we see the sentiments of all the called and chosen of God.  In the second portion of the second clause the LORD says “He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness” and this “robe of righteousness” is the garment of salvation the LORD speaks of in the first portion of this clause.  It should be clear if one has been blessed with the garments of salvation they have been called and chosen to be with the LORD forevermore.  The called and chosen of God will wear the garments of salvation “… as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels”.

Isaiah 61:11

In verse 11 the LORD is giving us the analogy of His work on earth in our gardens and in His forests comparing this to His work on His called and chosen from every nation on earth which is now in heaven.

Isaiah 60

A Review of Isaiah 60
by Keith E Gardner
Always using the King James Bible

Isaiah 60:1

This verse and this entire chapter have been written to the elect and the called and chosen of God.  We know this because the LORD exclaims “for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee”.  This is the language of the rebirth of the soul.

Isaiah 60:2

“For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people” is our Lord GOD describing the beginning of that final day.  “… but the LORD shall arise upon thee and His glory shall be seen upon thee” is the LORD telling His of His intension: Isaiah 42:9.  He is telling His of the end to come that on that day we will not be dismayed.

Isaiah 60:3-4

In verse 3 our Lord GOD speaks of the Gentiles who are all those who have not been called and chosen.  However, here the LORD is speaking of a particular portion of those who are Gentiles.  He speaks of those who will “come to thy light”.  The light our Lord GOD refers to is His gospel taken forth only by His called and chosen.  “… thy rising” the LORD speaks of in this verse is His elect becoming His called and chosen.  He tells us here that even the mighty men of the earth will respond to the call of God through His called and chosen.

In verse 4 the LORD is showing unto His called and chosen the fruits of their labor.  He says “lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee”They here are the elect of God becoming called and chosen by the word of the LORD given to them by those the LORD has already called and chosen.  This is the process the LORD uses to gather all of His elect unto Himself.  The sons and daughters the LORD speaks of are all the elect bought unto God by those who are called and chosen of the LORD.  Henceforth, they become the children of the person who took them the word and they too will then continue this process until all the elect have been called and chosen: then the end will come.

Isaiah 60:5-8

We will see the work of the LORD as He brings all those called and chosen to whom we took His gospel unto us: Isaiah 49:20-23.  The great glory of His works will cause us to fear His awesome might, but our hearts will be enlarged as we realize He is our All Mighty God.  Please realize our hearts will be enlarged in Him not puffed-up in ourselves.  Then “… the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto …” the called and chosen of the LORD as we are all credited with those whom we took the gospel of the LORD; all those who were called and chosen of God for they are “… the abundance of the sea …”.  In this verse the sea represents the world: Isaiah 42:10.  In Isaiah 42:10 the isles are all the lands of the world but, the sea is the world in its entirety.  The “forces of the Gentiles …” are all those who are elect of God and consequently will be led by His called and chosen unto Him.

In verse 6 we see “The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah”.  The multitudes of camels or dromedaries here represent the elect of God before salvation.  The LORD will send His called and chosen unto all mankind that they will hear His truth.  Midian and Ephah represent the lost of this world of which the elect are a part.  However, the LORD sends His called and chosen unto His elect with His truth that He will pull them all from the lure of this world.  In Revelation 18:1-5 the LORD is speaking of the influence of the churches on the world.  In Revelation 18:2 He refers to the churches as Babylon and in verse 4 He is taking all who are his out of the church.  Also based on verses like Isaiah 34:8-12 we know the LORD very often speaks of the lost as unclean birds and animals.  Because the elect are lost along with the world until they are called and chosen by God they too are characterized as unclean birds and animals; in this case camels and dromedaries.  We know these camels and dromedaries represent the elect of God because the last clause of the verse says “… they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD” which will only be done by those who truly seek the LORD: the elect.    The verse continues to say we will bring gold and incenses and show forth the praise of the LORD.  However, we have nothing therefore we can bring nothing so the LORD sees us as the gold and incense we will bring: 1 Corinthians 3:7-15.  In 1 Corinthians 3:7-10 the LORD is telling us through Paul what His called and chosen will do.  In verse 11 the LORD is telling us we must stick to His word only, the Bible.  Anyone who brings anything other than the truth of the Bible is not of God.  In verses 12 and 13 the LORD is telling us that we, His called and chosen, will take His word to both the elect and the lost and He will make the final determination by fire: Judgment Day.  Judgment Day here is not simply the last day.  It is the last day of life for every person whenever they may die.  If they die as gold, silver or precious stones the LORD has saved them.  If they die as wood, hay or stubble they will face His judgment during their deaths.  This same principle applies to the last day of the earth’s existence; the LORD will take all of His and leave the rest for judgment: Revelation 11:3-13.  In Revelation 11:3 the two witnesses represent all the called and chosen of God.  In Revelation 11:13 seven and one thousand, 7 times 1000, both represent completeness.  This is telling us the entire world will be destroyed and everybody on it.  The remnant which was affrighted are those whom the LORD called to heaven before He began the earth’s destruction; His two witnesses or the called and chosen.  We know this because they “gave glory to the God of heaven” and only the called and chosen will ever give glory to the God of heaven: Revelation 16:9.  In 1 Corinthians 3:14-15 the LORD is rewarding His called and chosen for every one of His elect we bring unto Him.  Our Lord GOD will bring all of His elect, whom we brought to Him unto us: Isaiah 49:20-23.  The loss we will suffer are all those to whom we took the word of the LORD however, they were not elect.

In the first clause of verse 7 the LORD is telling us of all the flocks of Kedar that He will cause to gather unto us.  He also speaks of the rams of Nabaioth that shall minister unto us.  These are among those whom our Lord GOD is using to take His word unto the world.  These are the descendents, confirmed and unconfirmed, of Ishmael which is to say the LORD will show His mercy on whomever He will; for there is no evidence Ishmael was like his father Abraham who was called and chosen of God.   Regardless, from Ishmael came the nations of Kedar and probably Nabaioth from which many of the elect and called and chosen will come.  The LORD continues saying “they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar and I will glorify the house of my glory”.  This last clause of the verse is saying all those called and chosen of God will come up upon the altar of the LORD and they each will be a sacrifice unto our Lord GOD: Romans 12:1.  This will be an acceptable sacrifice unto the LORD.  He will then glorify the house of His glory which is to say the LORD will praise the house of His glory: Psalm 50:15.

In verse 8 the LORD posses the question “Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows”? Here the LORD is speaking of those who are the acceptable sacrifice unto Him: His called and chosen.

Isaiah 60:9

In verse 9 the LORD is speaking of His as He says “the ships of Tarshish first”.  We know this is a reference to all those whom the called and chosen have drawn to the LORD.  He says He will bring our sons from far and the reference to silver and gold is simply another way of saying our daughters and sons in the Christ.  He will bring them to us because He is the LORD who glorifies us.

Isaiah 60:10

“And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee.”  In this clause we see the sons of strangers, which are the called and chosen who were the children of the lost, will build up the walls of those who took them the truth of the LORD.  As they build the walls each one of them can be seen as a brick and the LORD is bringing them unto the one who took them His gospel: Isaiah 49:20-23.  All of those called and chosen of the LORD are seen as kings: Revelation 4:4-11.  We know this because the four and twenty elders spoken of in Revelation 4:4 are a representation of all the called and chosen of God; two represents the elect or called and chosen of God and twelve represents fullness: 2 x 12 = 24.  Therefore the new heaven will be a place in which we will all minister to one another.  The LORD closes the verse with “… in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favor have I had mercy on thee”.  This is the LORD explaining our transition from the initial elect but living as the lost state to being called and chosen of Him.

Isaiah 60:11

In verse 11 the LORD begins by telling His called and chosen that we will minister continually unto the world; through radio, television, writing and interpersonal communications.  By continually taking His gospel to the world the door will always be open that all who will come may come.  However the LORD wrote the Bible that its truth would not be accepted by those who are lost, therefore, when the elect hear His truth only they will come to salvation.  If one is not elect they may, via a humble heart, know His mercy in their end, 1 Kings 21:27-29 and 2 Chronicles 12:5-8, as it is only the will of God that determines a mans end: Romans 9:15-16.  If a man refuses to heed the will of God and simply continues in his own way believing as he will then he shall endure the full wrath of the LORD on Judgment Day.

Isaiah 60:12

The nations and kingdoms, all the people of the world, who will not serve the called and chosen of God are all those who will not here the word of the LORD: 1 Samuel 8:4-8.  They are among those who are destined for damnation and destruction: “yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted”.

Isaiah 60:13

In verse 13 we read “The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together”.  As we know from verse 9 the LORD will glorify His called and chosen, therefore the called and chosen are “The glory of Lebanon”.  Lebanon we know is the world and the glory of it are the called and chosen of God; we are represented here as “the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together”.  We are all going to heaven to beautify the place of His sanctuary.

Isaiah 60:14

In verse 14 it speaks of “The sons also of them that afflict thee”.  These are among those spoken of in Isaiah 49:20-23.  As we have taken them the gospel of the LORD and it is through His gospel that He has healed them.  The verse continues with “… all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet”.  These are all those who were elect of God and have become called and chosen.  They despised the called and chosen of God because prior to salvation they were as the world however, once the LORD opens their eyes and their ears their perception will change; they will realize they too are among the called and chosen of God.  In Acts 26:13-18 you can read of this as it occurs more vividly in Saul’s life than it will in any of ours.  Please realize that Saul, later named Paul by the LORD, watched the coats of those who murdered Steven who was called and chosen of God: Acts 7:51-60.  The verse continues to say we will be called “The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel” because we are the servants of the LORD.

Isaiah 60:15

In verse 15 we see the called and chosen of the LORD are hated for the gospel we bring as we have been told we would be in Matthew 5:10-12.  However the LORD promises to make His called and chosen an eternal excellency.  We can comprehend this as we read Revelation 4:4 and realize the four and twenty elders represent the fullness (12) or all of the called and chosen (2) of God: 12 x 2 = 24.  The LORD then says we will be the joy of many generations which I believe means we will be the joy of all heaven; as the Kingdom of God is from generation to generation: Daniel 4:34.

Isaiah 60:16

In verse 16 the Gentiles represent those lost to God while kings represent those called and chosen from among the Gentiles.  The called and chosen of God will suck the milk of the Gentiles and suck the breast of kings.  This is to say the called and chosen will take the gospel of the LORD to those elect among the Gentiles and they will then become kings; the called and chosen of God: Isaiah 49:20-23. These things will materialize on the last day and it is at that time all the called and chosen of God will know that He is our Saviour and our Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Isaiah 60:17-21

In verse 17 the LORD is describing heaven.  He is explaining how our existence in heaven will be infinitely better than here on earth; regardless of our position in this life.

In verse 18 the LORD continues to describe our existence in heaven and as we read verse 18 we can know it will be blissful.  In verse 19 the LORD is telling His that His glory will replace the sun and the moon as He will be “an everlasting light”, our God and our glory.  In verse 20 the LORD is telling us of the eternal bliss in which we will live as He says “… and the days of thy mourning shall be ended”.  In verse 21 we see that heaven is the place of righteousness that will be forever.  The LORD will once again, as He did in Isaiah 5:1-2, plant His vineyard however this time the work of His hands will always and forevermore praise His most holy name.

Isaiah 60:22

Verse 22, although I cannot substantiate it, seems to say the LORD will grow His called and chosen to suite their God given roles in heaven.  The closest my earthly mind can comprehend would be an accelerated training program.  As our Lord GOD says “I will hasten it in his time” I immediately begin to think of an accelerated training program for the lack of a better analogy.

Isaiah 59

A Review of Isaiah 59
by Keith E Gardner
Always using the King James Bible

Isaiah 59:1-2

Chapter 59 opens with verses 1 and 2 which set the tone for most of the chapter.  We see in the closing half of the sentence in verse 2 the LORD says “… your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear”.  This is the LORD telling us of the plight of the lost.  It is the consequence of the desire of lost man to determine his own fate without regard for the will of the LORD.  Henceforth we have atheist who say there is no God and agnostics who say no one can know whether there is a God.  Then we have churches members and the idol worshipers.  The churches define God however they may choose and the idol worshipers define Him as any number of idols including the sun, moon and stars.  Given this relentless blasphemy, blatant degradation and humiliation can there be any question that Judgment Day is coming?

Isaiah 59:3

In verse 3 we see the LORD explaining His view of us all.  All of our hands are defiled with blood and our fingers with iniquity.  Upon hearing this most would say their hands are not defiled with blood for they have never hurt anyone.  Many even say they have never spoken lies or uttered perverseness however, every person born after Adam and Eve’s sin has hands defiled with blood; at the very least their own.  Because nearly every person that was or will be born into this world has been or will be born into sin; as we are nearly all lost from birth: Psalm 58:3-5.  The only salvation is the Christ and He has already determined, form before the foundation of the world, who He would save: Ephesians 1:4-5.

Isaiah 59:4-6

Verse 4 is speaking of all the people of the world both elect and lost as until we are called and chosen all mankind desire their own way and that which is not right in the sight of the LORD: Jeremiah 17:9“None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth” because we are all lost.  We are all consumed by the world which in all of its daily activities belongs to Satan: Matthew 4:8-9.  Although the LORD took dominion from Satan at the cross, Luke 10:17-18, He is using him in these last days to further corrupt the corrupt and prepare them for judgment: Revelation 20:1-3.  In Revelation 20:1-3 the thousand years is not an actual span of time but it is representative of the total span of time for which Satan was restrained.  The little season for which Satan is to be loosed is the end-time period leading to Judgment Day; that end-time period is now.  The LORD continues in the two final clauses of the verse describing the activities of lost mankind.

In verse 5 the LORD opens with “They hatch cockatrice’ eggs, and weave the spider’s web”.  This is the LORD speaking of the plans and schemes of the wicked or all mankind prior to salvation.  The LORD begins the second clause with “he that eateth of their eggs dieth” which is to say if you are caught in their web you will suffer great loss.  Your loss may be financial or it may be personal or maybe it will even be you life.  The LORD then closes the verse with “…and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper” which is to say there is no end to their wickedness: Proverbs 4:14-17.

In verse 6 we see the correlation the LORD makes between the webs weaved and the works done by mankind.  Reading carefully we can see the two are one.  Men are all lost unless and until the LORD saves us: 1 Peter 1:2.  No one knows their election status until God brings us His truth through one who is already called and chosen of Him: Acts 8:26-35.  Because we are all born of and into sin, Psalm 58:3, God must send us all His truth just as He did with Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch.  Prior to the salvation of the LORD all of our works are works of iniquity: Isaiah 64:6-7.

Isaiah 59:7-8

In verses 7 and 8 the LORD is speaking of all mankind and yes, this does include all of His elect.  For the elect of God, prior to salvation, are a part of this sin cursed world having all the same desires as anyone else, therefore they must and will be saved by the grace of God: Isaiah 53:3-8.  Knowing the LORD wrote the Bible through His called and chosen, Jeremiah 36:1-4, we can know that every word is true.  Therefore when we see the last clause of Isaiah 53:8 which reads “for the transgression of my people was He stricken” we can know that my people is only referring to those who are, were or will be called and chosen of God.  Everyone else will be given a profoundly critical choice to make.  They can humble themselves before our All Mighty God that He will have mercy on them in the end as well as in their lives or they can ignore His supremacy and follow the desires of their own hearts; their ends will be as declared in Isaiah 27:10-11 respectively.  In Isaiah 27:10 the LORD is speaking to all the lost who will humble themselves before Him.  They are spoken of here as the calf.  They are not sheep because they are not called and chosen of God.  Even still our Lord GOD will afford them a more comfortable existence, even in the midst of the ensuing spiritual blight, than those who would go their own way.  Look at Isaiah 27:11 we see it speaks of the women, the called and chosen of God, who will come and set the lost on fire.  We know from verses like Isaiah 62:5 that the LORD often speaks of His called and chosen as women.  We can also know the called and chosen of God will take His truth unto the world, Matthew 24:14, and it is the truth of the LORD that will seal the fate of the lost.  So there is only wasting and destruction in the paths of those lost who refuse the word of the LORD.

In verse 8 we see the lost have chosen their own path as the LORD says “they have made them crooked paths”.  The LORD has given them all a choice and they have elected to go as they did and will.  Therefore the LORD has given us all the assurance that whoever chooses the path of those people will not know peace.

Isaiah 59:9-10

In verses 9 and 10 the LORD is telling us of the condition of all mankind before the knowledge of Him.  Once He has sent His word to us via His called and chosen we have been enlightened.  After we have the true knowledge of God He may judge us at any time and we will only be judged once.  We can see this clearly exemplified in 1 Samuel 13:9-14 and again in 1 Kings 21:20-29.  In the former case Saul was, as most lost people are, intent on justifying his actions with lies while in the latter case Ahab simply humbled himself admitting the error of his ways.  Viewing the deaths of these two lost men, Saul in 1 Samuel 31:1-5 and Ahab in 1 Kings 22:29-37, we see a distinct difference.  Saul did not die as a warrior should nor was his dead body afforded the respect and dignity given to Ahab.  Although both men were lost our Lord GOD is showing us the distinction between the pattern of demise for those lost without and those lost with the mercy of the LORD.

Isaiah 59:11-12

In verse 11 we are reading Gods perception of all mankind.  All men, before salvation, seek their own gods; the atheist, agnostics and those who don’t give God a thought are all gods unto themselves.  Every man knows there must be a creator.  Therefore if a man denies the existence of the creator that man has ordained himself the creator of at least what he may call his domain.  Although congregation members do profess to worship God their gods are not the God of the Bible.  This becomes evident as you look at the Catholic faith and all the Protestant faiths with the multitude of interpretations they have drawn from the same early manuscripts.  In some faiths they have actually used other writings to justify their interpretations; the apocrypha is one example.  There is and only can be one God, Ephesians 4:4-6; so, has anyone ever questioned why there are so many very different faiths?

In verse 12 the LORD continues to describe the condition of all mankind before salvation however, take a look at the final clause of verse 12.  Notice this clause reads “and as for our iniquities, we know them”.  This brings back to mind a discussion I had with a minister who knew surprisingly little about the word of God.  He was trying to get me to attend his church.  After a little over half an hour he simply advocated I should attend any church.  At that time I could not comprehend him telling me to go to any church however, now I can.  Reading the last clause of verse 12 and knowing that misery loves company it becomes clear.  This minister knew he was earning a good living teaching lies and he is well aware of the price he must pay for what he has elected to do, therefore it is obvious to me that he simply wants all the company he can get in his misery.

Isaiah 59:13-14

In verses 13 and 14 the LORD continues to give us all the only relevant view of our lives: His.  He is the Alpha and the Omega and our omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent LORD therefore it is His perception and only His that will impact us all.  “The transgressing and lying against the LORD” spoken of here set the tone for the verse and as we read the remainder of the verse we see the LORD is speaking of all the church communities as one.  He says “conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood”.  The “words of falsehood” are all the church teachings that are manipulations of the word of God.  Although these teachings are “uttered from the heart” we know from verses like Jeremiah 17:9 that the hearts of men are desperately wicked.  Therefore it is no great thing for men to conjure lies and accept them as truth.

In verse 14 we see the reason for all the injustice in the world as the heart of every man worsens with every passing day.  “And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off” as the sincere cry for justice is faint the LORD will withhold His justice until His appointed time.  Our Lord GOD takes this approach because “truth has fallen in the streets and equity cannot enter”.  Therefore the LORD will refrain from judgment of the world until He will say “it is done”: Revelation 16:17-21.

Isaiah 59:15-16

In verses 15 and 16 we see the LORD as He looks at this world from beginning to end.  “Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey.”  In this sentence, and constantly throughout the Bible, the LORD is telling us all mankind have gone askew.  Our Lord GOD knows the beginning from the end and as He viewed this world without His intervention He saw all truth failed.  Even those who would turn from their wicked ways became the prey in an environment where they were once predators.  The LORD saw that His salvation was crucial if any were to be saved.   This verse brings to mind a very interesting point.  The LORD saved all those who He would save before the foundation of the world: Ephesians 1:4.  Looking at Isaiah 59:15 I am led to ponder; could it be that the LORD granted salvation to those who would have departed from their evil and made themselves a prey? In a world gone completely awry such people would be few in number; just like the elect of God.  If this were the case it would fit as we would have done nothing to earn salvation; it would still only be by the grace of God.  Just as a thief can cease stealing or a murderer would murder no more their hearts are still desperately wicked therefore, they still can’t do a thing to be saved.  So the LORD brings judgment and I must consider, is His judgment based in part on what He saw before the world was? Look at Ahab in 1 Kings 21:20-29 and you’ll see that although Ahab did humble himself before the LORD he only did so in the knowledge of the LORD and His intended punishment of Ahab and Jezebel.  If the LORD had not sent Elijah to tell Ahab of His intentions toward him, Ahab would not have been humbled.  However, the LORD speaks of those who depart from evil and this departure occurs in the absence of the LORD.  Once again they simply depart form the evil they do but, they can do nothing about the evil they think so without the LORD they would still be dammed.

In verse 16 we are reading about what the LORD saw as He looked at this world from beginning to end.  “He saw there was no man, and I wondered that there was no intercessor.”  So, in his great mercy, the LORD makes Himself intercessor at a horrible price but nonetheless He took the sins of all whom He would save upon Himself.  “Therefore His arm bought salvation unto him; and His righteousness, it sustained him.”

Isaiah 59:17-18

In verse 17 the LORD is preparing to do spiritual battle with His adversaries.  His adversaries are all those of this world who worship another god.  For as we know there are only two powers in this world and they are the LORD and Satan.  So, no matter what religious beliefs a man holds he is either in one camp or the other.  The only way to enter the camp of God is that He grants you salvation.  You may enter the camp of Satan anyway you wish: Matthew 7:13-14.

“According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay, fury to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies.”  In verse 18 we see the confrontation the LORD is preparing for in verse 17.  Unto all who have chosen to follow another god our Lord GOD will pay recompense.  No matter how a man may feel or what he may believe it is God who enables us all.  Therefore when we take the blessings of the LORD, our health and strength as well as our means and much more, and blatantly refuse to acknowledge Him there is a tab we are running up.  Just as at a restaurant, lounge or bar you can’t leave until you pay; neither will you die until you have repaid the LORD; “to the islands He will repay recompense”.

Isaiah 59:19-21

In verse 19 we see the consequence of verse 18 as the LORD says “So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun”.  Although all mankind will finally learn the fear of the LORD they will not honor or respect Him as their fear will only be of the torment He will bring.  “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.”  This sentence is a testament to the number of people lost in the world today who will not humble themselves before our All Mighty God.  Our Lord GOD also refers to all the lost here as him because they are all of one mind and that is the mind of Satan: Revelation 17:12-14.  In Revelation 17:12 ten horns is to represent all the people of the world who are not elect of God.  They had no power or kingdom as of the time of this writing because they did not exist; however, today is their time as today they do exist.  They will be given power with the beast means in the final months of this world as Satan has been given great power and those who are his have been given their kingdoms.  This does not mean wealth, fame or glory although some have been given that also, but it means they are allowed to do as they desire without regard for the LORD without punishment from the LORD; for a time.

In verse 20 we see our Lord GOD speaking of the rapture.  Zion in this verse is referring to all those the LORD has and will save.  This also includes the resurrection of our new spiritual bodies created from the bodies we had and have here on earth.

In verse 21 we have been raptured in soul and spiritual body.  Our Lord GOD has made a covenant with us that we will speak His words forevermore.  The seed and the seed’s seed mentioned in this verse are all those whom we have bought unto the LORD and those they have bought; the word of the LORD shall not depart out of our mouths.

Isaiah 58

A Review of Isaiah 58
by Keith E Gardner
Always using the King James Bible

Isaiah 58:1

In verse 1 the LORD is instructing His called and chosen to take His word to the world.  In doing this the LORD will make certain that along with the lost of the world His called and chosen will also get His word to all of His elect: Isaiah 43:20.  In Isaiah 43:20 the field represents the world while the beast represents the elect of God who have not yet been called by God.  We can know that the beast represents the elect of God because the LORD speaks of them singularly.  If He were speaking of all the people of the world, elect and lost, He would have said beasts.  We also know the LORD very often speaks of the world as the field.  Reading Isaiah 43:20 carefully you will see the LORD says “The beast of the field shall honour me”.  This is further proof the beast are the elect of God as the lost will never honor God, even as they face their end: Revelation 16:21.  Looking at Isaiah 58:1 with these facts in mind we should recognize the tie between Isaiah 58:1 and Isaiah 43:20.

Isaiah 58:2

In verse 2 the LORD continues to speak of His.  These are all those who are newly called and chosen of God.  They are learning the ways of our Lord GOD with great zeal and enthusiasm.  Although we know we are all sinners we also know we have been saved by the grace of God: Ephesians 2:8-9.  Therefore we go forth unto this world righteously, in the sight of the LORD, learning of Him and doing His will.  As the called and chosen of God we will always diligently seek to know everything the LORD will share with us.  We will also continually plead with Him for the blessing of the gifts of wisdom, understanding and knowledge that we will know how we are to proceed from one day and one situation to the next.

Isaiah 58:3-4

In verses 3 and 4 the LORD is still speaking to His and He is beginning to teach us how we are to approach Him.  He tells us in verse 3 our fasting is not truly a fast unto the LORD.  For we still do the things we enjoy and we even continue with all of our daily routines.

In verse 4 the LORD continues as He says “…ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness”.  This is evident as the called and chosen of God feel they have been wronged and their reaction is to strike back by pleading with God for undue revenge.  We must remember the LORD sees and knows all things.  Therefore we have only to voice our concerns to the LORD and He will handle all things.  So fasting solely for the purpose of revenge ought not to be done.  We are to fast to show our thanks giving, praise and honor to the LORD.

Isaiah 58:5-7

In verses 5 thru 7 the LORD is giving us His definition of a fast.  In verse 5 the LORD opens with the question; “Is it such a fast that I have chosen?”  Upon reading the rest of verse 5 it should become clear to you the traditionally accepted notion of a fast is a misunderstanding of the truth of God.

The LORD opens verse 6 with “Is not this the fast that I have chosen?” Please make no mistake.  This statement is referring to verses 6 and 7.  Our Lord GOD is saying verse 5 is not the fast the LORD desires but, verses 6 and 7 are.  Look at Matthew 9:14-15 and you will see this explained once again.  In this excerpt of scripture the LORD explains to John’s disciples this very concept.  In this parable the children of the bridegroom are the called and chosen and the bridegroom is the Christ.  After the earthly demise of the Christ, did His apostles continually fast? No, they did not however they did aggressively begin to take His word unto the world: John 21:15-17.  In John 21:15-17 we see the LORD repeatedly telling Peter to feed His sheep.  Peter here is representative of the called and chosen of the LORD while the sheep are all the elect of God.  Reading the remainder of verses 6 and 7 we can see this is all the language of salvation.  Bringing the poor that are cast out to thy house simply means to take the gospel to the poor in spirit.  If they are elect of God they will become rich in spirit and they will enter our house; the holy heaven of God.  When we see the naked if they are the elect of God we can clothe them with the righteousness of the Christ: Isaiah 61:10.  This is the fast the true children of God are to undertake with all of their being.

Isaiah 58:8-10

In verse 8 the LORD is explaining to us the true glory of His salvation.  It is not the purpose of His called and chosen to fast and beg for things for themselves for we are already rich.  It is our purpose to do as He has instructed us in verses 6 and 7, then He will bring His glory upon us as He has promised in verse 8.  Thus we see the glory of the LORD will be our rereward.

In verse 9 the LORD is telling us if we live as He has described in verses 6 and 7, He will bless us as He has said in verse 8; then we will be as obedient children unto Him.  We see in verse 9 that He will respond to our call and cater to our cry however, He requires that we avoid the ways of the world.

In verse 10 the LORD is telling us we must persevere in our endeavors to take His will through His word to the world.  The hungry of the world are all those who have no knowledge of the one true God.  The afflicted souls are afflicted because they have no knowledge of His truth however, it has been given unto the called and chosen of God to enlighten both those elect of God and those lost to God.  If we do as we are instructed, if you are elect of God you will do as you are instructed: Jonah 1-3, then we will grow in grace.

Isaiah 58:11

In verse 11 the LORD is telling us of His rerewards toward His called and chosen.  He will bless us as He desires and the blessings will be glorious.

Isaiah 58:12

“And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places” is the LORD showing us how the process will flow.  He is saying “they that shall be of thee” are all the elect of God whom you, as one who is called and chosen, have bought unto God.  These then will become called and chosen and they will “build the old waste places” or bring more of the elect of God unto the LORD.  This way the called and chosen of God will “raise up the foundations of many generations” unto the LORD; henceforth comes the name “The restorer of the breach, The restorer of the paths to dwell in”.

Isaiah 58:13-14

In verses 13 and 14 the LORD is simply telling us if we chose His way and we walk as He desires we walk and if we will honor, obey, love and fear Him He will direct our paths.  He will make all things right before us and He will keep us from trials and temptations which would overcome us: Isaiah 42:16.
